    Small game against Celtic

After a season packed with big, huge and massive games, I hope we can agree that our upcoming fixture against Celtic is a SMALL game. Minuscule. Insignificant.

Since we can rest a few players, I'd go with this team:
    Allison
    Eddie Leddie R.Gordon Mascot#1
    R.Boyle McCafferty Mascot#2 McEachran
    Gallantes Gallacher

Fill the subs bench with cardboard kangaroos.

That said, I still expect the players to go out and give it 60-70%.

Sensible head on we should be dropping everybody for this game.

Non sensible head I’d love us to play a full team and would fancy us to beat them putting us on an outstanding high going into the final.

Nobody really needs wrapped in cotton wool - it`ll effectively be a half hearted non contact kickabout with the chances of injury slim. Will expect a few changes but will still be a strong side.

Defo need to rest Boyle, he could be our key player in the Final, can`t risk him getiing booted off the park or pulling a hammy

There's a weeks recovery for the final.

Rest anyone with niggles and don't take any chances with key players but I'd prefer to see the core of the team kept ticking over.

I don't think it does any harm to get guys like Magennis, Stevenson and Wright game time along with a few more minutes for Murphy. I still expect a fairly strong Hibs line up though.

We are in the excellent position where Jack Ross can rest players if he so chooses,

St. Johnstone on the other hand can't.

If they lose against Livi they will finish 6th and would need to beat Hibs to get into Europe.

If they beat Livi they are guaranteed European football.

Will be interesting to see what they do.

Paul McGinn will want to play to complete a full season. I'd definitely rest Boyle, Doidge and Nisbet and probably Irvine, Gogic and Doig. Murphy, Stevenson, Magennis, Wright, David Gray and anyone else walking by to come in

    Small game against Celtic

JR saying in the post match interview that its pretty much all eyes on the Cup final now and we can expect to see a squad on Saturday that reflects that, as it should be IMO. St J still needing to realistically field a full strength team to get a result against Livi is very beneficial to us too

    Expect changes.

Don’t know who’ll be left out but can see everyone that was on the bench, except the goalie maybe, coming in.

Boyle is the one that I’d definitely be leaving out.

Good point actually.. If they fail to qualify for Europe it may see an exodus of players too

I was talking about this earlier - based on the media chat I thought they were miles clear in 5th.

Anyway - do Livi have the certificate to play in Europe so whether 5th or 6th st Johnstone get the place?

Think starting Dabrowski might not be a bad idea TBH - anything happens to Macey and we have an issue if Rocky is unavailable.

Never thought about the Euro certificate, do St.Johnstone?

St Johnstone don’t have much of a choice, half their squad either have Covid, are isolating, or have been binned by the club to make sure they don’t get it (key players). Everything from them is geared towards the cup final.

I wouldn’t be looking to protect our players. We need another confidence booster before the final and to play a weakened team could backfire on us. Maybe rest a couple of stalwarts, but let’s give Celtic a game.

I will, you’ll all be glad to hear, be starting at centre half to keep our boys safe for the final. In fact I fancy playing my way in to side and starting along side McGregor.

McGregor should be on the wing at least.

Confidence will be sky high in the first teamers, if none of them play then how would their confidence take a hit? All it takes is one of our front three to come a cropper and we’re right up against it. Less risks the better, keep them at home.

Going by Jack Ross's interview after the game, its fair to say the team on Saturday will not resemble the one tonight or from the semi final. No way are we risking the likes of Boyle, Nisbet or Doidge in a game that means little much in the grand scheme of things.

As was pointed out earlier, this is a nothing at stake game. Celtic won’t fire on all cylinders and I think the game will be quite flat. I won’t lose sleep if JR plays a weakened team but I don’t think it’s necessary.

Disagree Davie mate, we cant afford a sauzee moment like the last game before Celtic final. We certainly cant lose any of our front three so they dont play in my opinion. Gray, Stevenson, Murphy, Wright and Magennis all start with a few young lads too.
