Thread: Andy Walker

Forget about Walker the indivual this is all about The Old Firm wanting to control the press as they have done for years.Any journalist will not get access if they critise has been the Huns way of operating for years with journos in their pocket.Celtic to a lesser extent but still try to kill off bad stories.Free speach is essential in all walks of life and i detest the control of the press and the Scottish football press have been guilty of being in bed with the Huns.Huns press control is the following"critise us and you no longer get access to stories".The sad thing is it will not change.

Agree, Sky should tell both clubs to F off whilst people may not like Andy Walker comments he is entitled to make them. Mcfadden and Boyd have made comments against our club do we ban them, no.
Reminds you of megalomaniac dictatorships that ban or jail journalists who tell the truth.

I remember he once called us a provincial club

    Strange from an ex player
Not strange, just completely incorrect, as provincial is defined as outwith the capital, so basically the headline story is that two of Scotland’s bigger provincial clubs have banned Andy Walker from attending games at their grounds !

I always thought in Scottish footballing terms everyone outwith the ugly sisters was a provincial club.

Pundits using the term ‘provincial’ intend it to be a put down. It’s sheer ignorance on their part, but, far be it from me to criticise their lack of knowledge. For provincial clubs, Rangers and Celtic do quite well .

Leaving aside the fact that it's Andy Walker, it is a bit ridiculous that those clubs are so sensitive about what some TV commentator says about them.

The Rangers are still in dispute with the BBC because one of their reporters dared to mention sectarian songs sung by some of their Fans at ER. And that was quite a few years back now.

So as well as Rangers' Sectarianism, you can add Rangers' Finances to the list of topics the media are no longer allowed to discuss.
Who are this 'Rangers' to which you refer? They went out of existence nine years back.

I couldn't agree more, an example of this is when Walker called out the Dubai trip, we need more journaists like this who don't just say what either side of the two cheeks want to hear, Scottish football will be a lot more dull if the Old Firm are able to control the press.

To be honest I would have a lot more respect for them if Sky told Rangers, Celtic and Andy walker to F off

Andy Walker, as an ex-Bolton player, is a large reason I’m a Hibs fan. Bit of a weapon though.
