I’ve always had a lot of time for Liam, can’t explain why as he was never used in interviews (from what I remember) but maybe when he did speak it was rare so I paid attention.

He was really good with us (as were everyone that we’ve had on), a genuinely nice guy who has had a really good career in football.

Looking forward to this immensely, seemed like a great character when he was with us, someone who really 'got it'.

Heard him speak in hospitality once post-match. A lovely bloke and so obviously proud to play for us.

Was delighted to have a guy of this quality as a person at our club.

Hope he goes on to have a good life after football.

Legend and an underrated player for me.

Driving to the Dundee game a few weeks ago and he was walking down Queen Street with his shopping bags. He still lives in Edinburgh and there’s only one place he should be on a Saturday afternoon. Should have guys like him in and about hospitality or whatever.

A real classy announcement from a great professional.

Enjoyed watching his time with us during that special cup winning spell and there will always be a seat for him in Easter Road.

Big fonts was as reliable a centre back as you’ll find, never hiding giving his all for the club. We were blessed with good defenders during his time at hibs, and he was a favourite of mine for his sheer commitment to the jersey and the club. Totally bought into what Hibernian was all about from the start of his time with us. Probably the worst time I could remember to come in to as well. Enjoy your new adventures fonts the worlds your oyster big man! GGTTH!!

Always seemed a brilliant character which you can't get too many of. Represented the club magnificently and always seemed to appreciate the importance of the bond between players and fans. Happy retirement Liam.

All the best Liam and thanks for the memories. I've probably not got over us letting him go. A very decent left sided centre back but seemed to be a big part of getting the team bonding. Legend.

Great post from the big guy - makes you a bit proud that guys come up the road from a completely different background and become one of “us” so quickly and how big an impact the club/team/support can impact their life.

On Fonts….really solid defender, comfortable on the ball but I think above all he was a real leader on and off the park.

Always liked big Fonts, though I'll always remember seeing him play for Hibs for the first time away at Alloa, thought he looked a bit of a huddy that day and wrote him off. Glad I was proven very wrong.
