    Also know as “oh no”
Or at least that’s what a substantial number of fans used to shout any time the ball went near him 🤣

Cheers. Probably expect another arrival within the next couple of weeks then and/or clarification on Irvine’s future.

What was the contract that Ethan Laidlaw signed earlier this year? He seems like a real good prospect.

Read about this being in the pipeline a couple of weeks ago, find it strange for them to be sending players to a direct rival of ours after the chat that was out when the partnership was announced, I’m aware we might not have been after someone in that position and I’m aware they need to give their guys exposure but surely they go somewhere else than to strengthen a rival

Attacking mid, I know it’s dependant on what JR is looking for etc but they surely attempt to shift him out on loan to another league? How does them strengthening a league rival of ours constitute as ‘working together to drive both clubs forwards’ ?

Sure he’s an attacking midfielder. Probably looking for him to start every week and we can’t really offer that with Scott Allan in the squad.

Can’t complain about him going to Aberdeen.

Going by Ross this season we have Allan, Mallan, Irvine, Magennis and Murphy who can play that position.

Why can’t we? I’m aware that every player Brighton want to send out won’t be suitable for us however there are a fair amount of clubs to choose from in the UK why a direct rival of a club there supposed to have a strategic partnership with? Mental IMO

19 and last played for England at U17 so I wouldn’t read too much into that.

Could be a decent signing but there’s little to give us any indication either way really.

I find that list really depressing.

If we’re really not after attacking midfielders because we have them then I think we could be even *****r than I feared next season.

Our whole centre midfield is quite uninspiring imo. Functional to an extent, but quite dull.

Certainly an area I’d be looking to improve on considerably.

I quite like all of our attacking midfielders individually, it’s fitting even just one of them into a cohesive team unit that I find challenging.

I think Allan as the number ten in front of Irvine and Gogic would’ve been a good mix in midfield. It looked good with Murphy in there for a couple of games before Newell came back.

In terms of signings I thought we might’ve had one or two more by now. Certainly being patient.

I like Newell as a player but I'm beginning to think that offering him a new deal wasn't the smartest use of our budget as it's difficult to see how he fits into our best team.
Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.

Newell can go box to box and isnt predictable for me that puts him ahead of some other mids we have

    Find it odd too.

Would love to hear the recruitment take on this?

Agree with others - we have some good individual midfielders when fit but our midfield isn’t good enough and needs improved. We can’t expect to go in with same central players next season surely - we need an upgrade.

All a little random, especially with McGinn busy on international duty right now. It would be nice to think it was true but would need to see some reliable evidence before I, or too many people on here, catch this hook

Mind you, it doesn’t look much like he’ll be bothered by international duty after the middle of next week

They might change their mind after today’s game, SJM had a stinker.

Darren Fletcher supposedly said he's high on United's wish list, didn't see the clip so can't confirm. That's a long way from them actually signing him but it's interesting all the same.

That's what I was told that Fletcher was saying that man utd were interested in singing him I chose the the wrong wording but if man utd are interested they usually get there targets

He didn’t say it. A Man Utd fan twitter account claimed he said it during the BBC coverage of today’s game but he didn’t.

A decent player but no better than English Championship level.
Enough to keep Cellik ahead of the likes of Hibs but not troubling Rangers

On paper he looks nowhere near good enough to improve Celtic.

If they lose Edouard and bring this guy in then they’ll be significantly worse.
