The lad has made a mistake, he's not a terrible human being for doing what he did but he wasn't allowed to do it and he should have known better even at 19. Is 6 games a bit severe? Maybe a little, but that's the way it goes at the moment. The lad had an outside chance of the Euro's because of his age and his position, but ultimately if his actions are what cost him a seat on the metaphorical plane then it's a lesson he'll need to learn for his career and life going forward.
His career won't suffer because of this suspension and Gerrard needs to reign it in a bit and accept it for what it is. If Gerrard thinks he's good enough then he'll play him next season when his suspension is up.

Boys a decent RB and IMO he'd be in the next Scotland squad as they are friendlies to see what he's got to offer.

It shouldn't be overblown - he just went to a bloody party afterall. Yes it was wrong and against the rules at the time and he should take the punishment same as any other player whatever that is (a 4 or 6 match ban?) and if he's a good enough player he'll easily come back from that. Gerrard is talking a crock because if he just got his ban over with straight away he might yet squeeze in a few games at the end of the season if his team stays in the cup.
