Can't stand Hanley. He was crap the last time he was in the team and can't see why he gets back in ahead of the the guys who'd been playing well enough to help us qualify. He's too weak and slow for international football.
He’s not even as good as you’ve mentioned!

I agree but I trust that Steve Clarke has seen enough in training to choose him. He probably comes in for Gallagher who is playing in a very poor Motherwell side leaking goals right now so form might play a part too.

Other way about I thought. Expected Hendry to play but surprised by Hanley. Hendry, apparently, and his team doing well in Belgium this year.
Hanley is captain of Norwich and they were 10 points clear at the top of the Championship last time I looked.
    Hanley almost ever present.
He used to be good for an own goal. Hopefully he has at 29 matured that out of his game.
Used to also be good for a set piece headed goal up the other end.

Would love Nisbet to come on and score a winner. Based on the lineups I can’t see anything other than a Austria win though unfortunately.

Was trying to work who is missing in midfield, it’s Callum McGregor

I think it looks better without him. Armstrong has been fantastic the entire season, McGinn is undroppable and McTominay does everything McGregor does and is a goal threat.

I think this is a better team on paper than our qualifying run team.

I've never really rated him either, but Hanley has been excellent for Norwich this season.

Ali McCann of St Johnstone starts for Northern Ireland vs Italy.

Hanley is nowhere near as good as Hanlon. But he’s playing down south ergo automatically better in the eyes of 90%.

Why are they promoting the Northern Ireland game at the same time? Is it some sort of dual broadcast?

Yep what a joke. Give each country their own build up instead of this joint nonsense.

They done something similar with the Wales / Ireland coverage last night but separate broadcasts of the action.

Not sure think McGregor is one of our best players. Imo was the best player on the pitch in Serbia.

The Austrian anthem must be one of the most underwhelming around. The Austrian players looked almost bored as they mumbled through it.

Jack Hendry looked like he would rather be anywhere other than Hampden during the national anthem.

At least the annoying international is midweek this time
Why is this one annoying but Sunday's isn't?

In fact, why is this one annoying in the first place?

Austria look pretty decent. Physically big side and move the ball reasonably well.

We need to get on the ball quickly

We have a central midfield comprised of 3 quality players playing in the top flight in England. Add to that defenders also playing at that level and you can see we are on the right track.

A win tonight would be huge.
