I’m left handed and I’ve heard all sorts of nonsense on how this shapes your personality or life choices. Personally I think it’s nonsense, but anyway, what are you all. Beware I’ll be judging based on your answers

I think something like 1 in 10 people are left handed, but among my musician friends (literally hundreds over the years) this probably rises to maybe 1 in 4.

Yes, right.
Not quite the same but I had a theory growing up that left footed players had a better chance of making it in football - they were more naturally accustomed to playing on the left than the majority (90%) of people. They also, based on very little more than an arjen robben case study, suffered from being overly utilised on the left hand side throughout their career and were therefore generally worse with their right feet than righties were with their left.Mon the Hibs.

My son is left handed and can comfortably play golf with right handed clubs. I couldn't hit a ball with a left handed club.

Left hand writing and anything dexterous. Play the drums right handed and lead with my right, can only twirl a drumstick with my right hand. Right hand most other things,
Right footed.

Likewise, I’m better at controlling a football with my left foot but anything with power it’s my right foot.

My dad was naturally left sided, but was forced at school to use his right hand for writing. He had a wand of a left foot, but his writing was appalling.

I used to play snooker lots and playing against left handed players always made me feel awkward as well, totally freaked me out

Left handed. I do most things right handed because most tools and equipment are designed for right handed people. Used to love lending people left handed scissors to watch them struggle 😁

I’m left handed for everything except sport where it involves swinging a club or bat. I play a left handed guitar now but used to just play with a right handed one simply turned upside down. Somebody here (Peevemor maybe?) once suggested all lefties should learn instruments right handed, something I wish I had at least attempted now.

Right handed, left footed
i can’t serve in badminton right handed though, and caused an argument between 2 PE teachers when one told me it was against the rules to serve left handed then play the rest of the point right handed, the second one laughed at her and said that was nonsense, cue row.
cut bread with either hand, my mum still gets freaked out by me cutting bread left handed.

Right handed across the board for me. I once played golf with 2 lefties, first time I’ve ever felt the odd one out on the course. I scored badly so could invent a brand new excuse
Football - When I was a nipper my dad, who could kick with either foot, used to take me to the park and play “left foot only” it was a penalty if I used my right. It was never as strong as my right but the longer I played the more I realised how smart he was - though as I was a goalie he never thought if me as a “real” footballer 😡

Equally bewildered that you rarely(never?) find left handed musicians in orchestras???

Genuinely ambidexterous when it comes to my hands, and equally **** with either foot when it comes to football!
Madness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. All it takes is a little push.
