Anyone following this development?
As far as I can tell the NBA are creating ‘moments’ by selling game highlights to fans as digital tokens on the blockchain. Licensed memorabilia for the digital age.
A 12 second highlight of a Lebron James dunk sold for $200k recently despite the same piece of action being free on YouTube!
Seems bonkers on the surface. So what is going on here, anyone following this? Will the league withdraw YouTube clips so the digital memory has a unique value? Some people have more money than sense? Anything we should be doing to take advantage?!
