A statue dedicated to the founders of the club outside the west stand. Friendlies against our opponents we played in the European Cup 70th anniversary. These could be pre season games or played during the season depending on European qualification.
A 3 stand display when we play Hearts.
The 1972 strip the official strip for the season.

Club could commission artists to design gates for entrance to East stand and both ends of west stand.

Good thread this. Club will always be looking in - not just me -
so ideas (standard, traditional and creative) always welcome.
That year is fast approaching!

I’d roll out our ‘first to wear the green n white hoops’ shirt as a 3rd kit, just for the bites.

I would be all for a white strip with green trim with a Harp over the breast 1875-2025
Why not play Hearts for a prestigious trophy to mark the occasion and just to keep things authentic Hearts have to play with three men short for the first 20 minutes

Anyone on here remember the queuing up outside Thins in 1975 to buy the book 100 years of Hibs and getting it signed by the first team squad at the time.

Name the stands.
West ;Canon Hannan Stand or Hannan Stand.
South ; St Patrick's Stand
East; St Mary's or Cowgate Stand
Or vice versa
Training ground ; Hibernian Park
Play with original strip for the season
Home or away
I mind D/Utd did that on their centenary (Green top)
Pre season tourney with Clubs we had relationship with in early days.
Maybe Preston North End, Arsenal and Aston Villa.
Also a club from Ireland.
Possibly from Limerick (Canon Hannans home county )or St Patricks FC
Playing for a trophy with a Harp design.
Proceeds to local/.city charities
And charge1875 prices(just joking)
Nothing traditional ,mind you !!
Just this old guys thoughts !Last edited by Mick O'Rourke; 05-03-2021 at 09:22 PM.

I've written before about my family connections going back to the founding of Hibs with my great grandfather being an original member of The Hibernians. He was married in 1873 with Father Edward Hannan officiating. My grandad was then born in 1875. For myself I was born in St Mary's St, about 30 yards from the Halls & I have a childhood memory of being at a function there. I was also with Gerry Docherty, of 100 Years of Hibs fame, when we discovered the 2 beautiful trophies mentioned above. A picture of them appears in the book & I thought they were on permanent loan to ER. A nice thread & some great thoughts for our anniversary.

I would like to see the original strip of white top with the harp badge, white shorts with the green piping and green socks being worn for that season

Prestigious trophy, indeed.
But against opponents that have some prestige.

Celtic actually played their first season in white shirts so actually should we be singing we were the first to wear the white? they didnt play in green and white hoops until 1904, they played their early seasons in green and white strips well for a good 15 seasons. We did play in green and white hoops first but they hardly stole or copied them. Tin hat on, glass of wine for anesthetic

apart from ‘67. That was glorious I’ll give them that. Even if it was under a legendary manager they nicked from us

Assistance for John Campbell to publish the 3rd book in his trilogy. I recall reading a while back John saying the book was almost ready to go but publisher issues prevented it from happening.
Maybe the club could help out? Make it official.
Also bring it up to date to (2025) with either a 4th Volume from Jonnyboy or, if John isn’t able to do so, another scribe or expert Hibs historian to ghost write it jointly with John or a collective effort from volunteers.Last edited by hibby6270; 06-03-2021 at 06:05 PM.

Perhaps a few events at ER. Would love to see the Proclaimers play there, could also introduce an open training day at the stadium around the time (something I would like to see at least once or twice every summer anyway).
As it would land in August then perhaps we could get along a few club legends to make an appearance and bring them out at our first home league game of the season. On that note I remember there being talk of potentially Suazee coming back for a game? Hopefully that can be arranged after covid.Last edited by Magpie; 07-03-2021 at 06:20 AM.

Back in Canon Hyland era when the church was getting some refurbishing mass was held in the St Mary Street Halls for a few weeks. The main hall hadn't changed at all and Canon Hyland was waxing lyrical about our history although he was a Celtic man. The late Alan Lugton was a regular attendee as were a number of well-kent ER faces.
When the Redemptorists took over the church still held the Edinburgh Association cups and as part of a further refurbishment fundraiser, you could get your photo taken with them up n the St Pats altar for £5 which i did. They were subsequently gifted to the club with an on-pitch ceremony. I would like to hope they are on prominent display along with other historical memorabilia.
It's great to see the "Little Ireland" signage up around the area and some of those behind that initiative are staunch Hibbies
The 1875 kit (brown belt optional) with the original badge as a one off 150th centenary strip is what Id go for together with the various celebrations you and others have sugested
