Cameron was excellent for Wolves, definitely a success.

Anyway back to Hibs. Kevin Harper did well with Portsmouth in particular.

Rolf Harris has held his own down there too, must have at least as many appearances as Blackley or Brownlie did with Newcastle. What a ***** downer this one is, wish I hadn’t looked.

Sorry but Arthur Mann didn't really make it in England unless you count Notts County and Mansfield.

Manchester City paid big money for Mann but he never really established himself making only 40 appearances in three years.

I'm not sure about 'made it' either (depending on the criteria) but he had a very good career in England, especially with Notts County who he played over 250 times for, many times alongside Don Masson. Saw him many, many times and he normally impressed. He was well loved and respected by Notts fans, whether playing midfield, left back or sweeper. The latter which I thought he was quite briliant at. A lovely guy, Arthur sadly died quite young in an industrial accident.

Back in the day Bobby Johnstone. Scored in two cup finals for City. Just what would he have earned playing for City in this day and age. #Hibslegend

Had a look through this thread to see if Nicker was mentioned.-)

Yes ,Bobby was revered at Man City and also Oldham Athletic.

Some players from us over the years went down South and didn't set the heather on fire.

    Bobby Johnstone certainly did !!

    Edit

This below is an indication on the popularity of Bobby ,from an Oldham Athletic perspective

Either had a bar or one named after him in the main stand at Maine Road in the 80s

If you remember back to when Bobby Johnstone passed the Man City fans who came onto Hibs forums to pay condolences were top class, some cracking stories. Ditto when Joe Baker died. Their legends are indelible.

He scored for City in successive FA Cup Finals in 1955 and 1956. He was the first player to do that.

I went to a match at Maine Road in April 1997 for a match against Bolton Wanderers. Bobby Johnstone was introduced to the crowd to mark his departure from Manchester as he was returning to retire to the Scottish Borders.

Incidentally Mixu scored the equaliser for Bolton after Kinkladze had the opened for City. Bolton went on to win 2-1 and were promoted to the Premier League. Top marks to the Bolton fans for that match. They sang continually "We only hate Man United".

I once had a pint of Boddingtons in the ‘Bobby Johnstone’ kiosk at Maine Road. Half time v Gillingham. Made me feel so good that we had a stamp there, certainly a bit better than the pint did.

Take it you mean Bremner and not Brebner as Grant was a young player at Man united when on loan to us,then a full signing, where as Des was a League and European cup winner at Vila.

His son also went on to win the FA Cup one of the few father and son winners
