    I think this is a really interesting topic (hence the thread ) and what I was hoping for was to end up with a list of things to watch, read or listen to for genres that I'm not really into at the moment, to see if they opened my eyes to them.

    Would maybe be worth creating a list of genres for literature, film, tv and music and then try to get a couple of genre defining books, films, albums (or songs) for each.

    So next question is (and sorry CWG, I know you hated the term 'genre' but I'm not sure how else to get a readily recognisable term for these) what genres are there for each?

    Anyone???
