This has been a cracking season by most possible metrics. A third place finish now looks a certainty unless we have a pretty huge collapse and Aberdeen have a huge turnaround (they’ve scored one, yes one goal in their last 10). Jack Ross deserves a humongous amount of credit if we do secure third. It would be huge for our club.

Eight points secures it for us. They need to score eight points more than us in the remaining five games, two of them against the Old Firm. If we go with the assumption that neither us or Aberdeen get a point against both those teams, that's then eight points over three games to catch up.
One win or two draws clinches it for us I reckon.
Do you think your security can keep you in purity, you will not shake us off above or below. Scottish friction, Scottish fiction

Livi have a better chance now of catching the dons now than them catching us when they are not scoring goals.

OK, then...
We're currently rampaging into third place.
That better?

Is there a realistic chance of fans being back in grounds for Europe?
My gut feeling is we might be able to be back inside ER to some degree but travelling to numerous countries could be tricky due to local lockdown conditions.
Don’t think I’d be booking flights anytime soon.Last edited by WhileTheChief..; 21-03-2021 at 10:31 AM. Reason: Wrong thread but kinda relevant

I'm hopeful that some fans may be able to attend the home games.

even i'm slightly confident we will at least beat Livingston this time around, which would leave Aberdeen needing x3 wins and x2 draws or x4 wins, along with us losing our other four games
have i got that right

In the last twenty years I can recall Hibs finishing ahead of Celtic once in 1994-95. Hibs had two points more in 4th place than Celtic in 5th. Celtic still beat Hibs on the Cup Semi-final after a replay.
Over the same time periof you exclude the two years when Rangers were in a Divsion or two below, Hibs have finished ahead of them once, in the Scottish Championship in 2014-15. Hibs finished second 3 points ahead of Rangers in 3rd. Rangers still managed to beat Hibs in the Promotion Play-off without managing to go up.

but that would make them equal on points with us if we win one, and if we win that one game it means our GD would be at the very least +13, we will all agree it's highly unlikely they will claw back 13 goals
i think

We’ll almost certainly end up playing Rangers at home again and Celtic away so that everyone ends up with a 19/19 split. Not sure whether or not that’s a good thing as I’d have been pretty confident in us getting some form of result at home to Celtic
