Marinello's in Leith Walk was down near the bottom, left hand side going down the Walk it used to be called Copperfields and it would stay open at the time to 4 in the morning, so I was told Hic.
Peter was a really nice guy sometimes he was taken a loan of by some real nasty ones.
Great player in his day and well remember the newspaper headlines when Him and Joe McBride senior destroyed the hun at Ipox when the swapped numbers and places on the park.

Great thread. Reading through it, I was struck by the subjects raised, that would merit a thread of their own:
1. The cultural differences between Hibs and Hearts.
2. Why modern players can’t cross a ball.
3. Missionary sex (is it dull?)

2. Ball is too light now and needs too much precision.
1. Tynecastle is where the golf club meets neo fascism. Hearts pompous, arrogant and judgemental. Maroon is a horrible color for a strip. Gorgie depressing and dark and smells. Their owners sum them up Mercer, Robinson, Romanov and Budge.

Pretty sure I read that ‘Nello was first introduced to the ‘big team’ on the tour of Ghana and Nigeria where the locals although obviously biased were applauding and oohing and aahing at Marinello’s speed, ball control, trickery, dribbling skills and all round wing wizardry
They just could not get enough

Some trivia
Efe Ambrose played for a club in Nigeria Hibs met on that tour.
Hibernian.... first British club to tour Africa
One of the teams we played on the tour did not have boots for all their players.
Hibs gave them boots.
Or it was going to be barefoot !!
