    Three Lions

Despite being very much Scottish, and hoping for an Italy win tonight, I still think Three Lions is one of the best ever songs specifically written for a football team/event, and enjoy listening to it. Anyone else?

I don't enjoy listening to it any more thanks to the English media mega-hype but I've always said it is a brilliant song. It's out there on it's own as far as football songs go. I used to love watching Fantasy Football League although when I think back I'm not too sure why!

A fantastic song from arguably the most under rated songwriter of all time. I bloody love the Lightning Seeds.

Getting a bit tiresome down here now, the dominant version is the one that is normally belted out after midnight and heavily distorted by lager, rarely sing much more than it's coming home over and over again.

Hopefully the ones that are coming out of the woodwork just now quickly return to singing about rugby, cricket, the proms etc or whatever Bozo is promoting next.

Their first album is just packed with pop classics that send a tingle up your spine. 2 or 3 on the 2nd album too.

He was never the greatest vocalist but when I saw them supporting Squeeze about 8 years ago he had to have a co-lead singer as his voice had basically gone.

    It's a brilliant football song.

The issue is it's used as an anthem of triumphalism because only a small part of it is sung by fans or used as a slogan. In context it's an entirely relatable song for any football fans. Broken hearts, predictable failure and the dream of 'maybe next time'.

I seen them at Glastonbury 2010 headlining the Avalon stage, the day before they got horsed by Germany. Was wearing my kilt at the time, a bit out of place! They were bloody great though, musically and vocally not the best but a setlist full of bangers.

It’s a cracking football song. Nothing offensive about it either unless you are over thinking things of course.
I sang it last week as a joke and I can’t stop now. It’s infuriating.

They performed it on the last leg on Friday night, made me so jealous that it’s not our song. I’ve always loved it.

How many England Fans singing that song are aware that the Three Lions are actually Leopards?

Great song for a terrace chant. Bit jealous that it belongs to our biggest rivals. Understand now how the tarts must feel about Sunshine on Leith. Hopefully it can be put to the back of the playlists for radio stations again after tonight

I don’t think any of them could give three *****, they are far too busy having fun.

I've never minded the song tbh, also World in Motion from 1990. Baddiel and Skinners Fantasy Football from the early/mid 90s was a great football programme. I'd rather the English fans weren't singing it in celebration later on tonight though.

Think fantasy football was on in 2004 for the Euros. I loved it.
