Try signing a forward or two, Ross/Mathie...

Instead of countless, mostly right-sided, non match-fit midfield players.

It might give us more options off the bench than we have had in the last two semi-finals.

We've got Doidge, who appears to have regressed to what we was when we signed him, Nisbet, who you could argue is still learning a lot of aspects of centre forward play, and Gullan, a raw laddie as back-up.

Contrast that with our identikit midfield of: Allan, Hallberg, Mallan, Newell, Wright, Gogic, McGinn, Cadden, Irvine.

That's almost a full team of midfield players, and as said half of them are still getting up to speed fitness wise.

Anyone still think him and the recruitment team has used his budget "wisely"?

I think we need a really technically good and skilful striker that can create something out of nothing, drop in the hole, spin behind or drift wide and drag the opposition about.

I think we need an intelligent player to stop us going long or when teams park the bus they have the ability to break them down.

this type of player costs serious cash - we’ve spent our budget on a team of midfielders unfortunately.

Strikers? It's central defenders we need. Get us two big huge bustards in the middle of defence that should be the priority,

Ross Stewart would also improve us from defensive corners

I do, because there seems to be an element of long term planning involved.

I think the squad is stronger than it was a year ago.
