    I’d go 3-5-2

    Marciano (if fit)

    Mcginn
    Porteous
    Hanlon

    Cadden
    Doig

    Gogic
    Irvine/Newell
    Murphy

    Boyle
    Nisbet
That would be my team too. Boyle pace up top will work very well against their back 3.

    I agree.

Wasn’t a reserve side and celtic at Parkhead will always be a touch game.

Anyone that’s suggesting it was a pretty much full strength Celtic team as 9 out of 11 normally start is being a bit disingenuous though. The stats may show those 9 players play regularly but it’s deliberately ignoring where they were very weak that night though.
I think people are maybe taking the ‘reserve’ thing a bit literally. Depleted, fringe or whatever.

However, in terms of appearances this season there definitely wasn’t 9 regulars on the pitch for them. Then you look at the likes of the goalie, played 5 or 6 games on the basis of how much they’ve been toiling. He’s never going to be Celtic number one though. Without the isolation maybe four, five tops, would have played.

I'd be looking at going with the following if i got to pick the team:

    4 - 2 - 3 - 1

    Marciano

    McGinn
    Porteous
    Hanlon
    Doig

    Newell
    Gogic

    Boyle
    Irvine
    Murphy

    Nisbet

Wasn’t sure about Irvine in that role last week. Not really a criticism of him but not sure that’s his position.

Weren’t Hibs depleted? I’d suggest 6 minimum would’ve played without isolation. Two fullbacks, Duffy, and the three central midfielders. It’s hardly a stick to beat Jack Ross with when we went to parkhead and got a point.

    Agreed...becoming over complicated.

To change the winning team from last week with players not 100% fit would be a risk.

Anyone on here who is confident about tomorrow is delusioned, particularly given our record in recent semi finals.

Another nervy game of fine margins. Hope our key players Nisbet and Boyle show up and play well.

    Fingers crossed we win.

Thing is, I never really beat him with that stick. Merely said that I thought it was disappointing result. That was based on the circumstances and the way the game went.

Yeah get what your saying, love to see a confident Mallan play there or a fully fit Allan but not sure jack trusts Mallan enough to play him there.

Just hope we don't go 4-4-2 from the start, think it leaves us vulnerable in the middle of the park.

‘Delusioned’ for being confident of us beating St Johnstone? I’ll look at our record against the Saints this season rather than a Semi Final record.

Plenty of discussion to make up a thread, and none of us have been at training this week, and no know who’s fit and been playing
It’s Jack’s call, and all we want is a win

The circumstances where we played against a side worth many millions more than our team, at a ground we haven’t won at in 10 years, on a day where our manager spent no time with our squad as he was in meetings about the game all day, where we were missing our most creative player and our goalkeeper, and where our best central midfielder had to go off injured. We then went 1-0 down late on. I’d say it was a very good point in the circumstances.

    Of course.

But in a thread about what team fans would pick for the game, if we all just said, the team that wins. It would defeat the purpose of the thread a bit

It obviously gone off in a tangent a bit but that’s just what happens whether it’s on a message board or mates in a pub talking.

I will be confident because of Hibs record against St Johnstone in Semi-Finals!
