The most excited I've been about a young player since Ryan Porteous broke through. Lad had got a bright future.
Easy to see why compared to Robertson by Queens Park fans , very similar in style and drive. ,.
Feel we have a diamond on our hands and heard that both sides of the old firm have noticed how well he has performed against both.
Not sure how long a contract he is on but needs extended .

Do you see him as a wingback or eventually a CH Billy?

J-C, it’s a great question, but we just need to see how he develops
    His pace is frightening though!
I remember speaking to George Craig at a development game just after we got him form Hearts. He couldn’t believe we got him
At that stage I believe we thought we were signing a centre back, as he all the attributes to develop in that position

Remember also Paul Hanlon started his Hibs career at left back, before getting moved to Centre back

Funnily enough I'm a big fan but thought he was having a poor game yesterday until his assist. After that you could see his confidence grow & he gave us a great attacking option.

A fantastic young player with pace, strength and determination. Hopefully we have a few gems like him at the Academy. Can’t believe Hearts let him go.

Noticed Gerrard and Tavernier making a point of talking to him after the game at Ibrox. Potential to make the club a lot of money if English clubs take note and he continues to develop.

Seen him in ASDA last night (all masked up) and, having not seen him play in the flesh, I didn't realise how tall he is.

He had a great game yesterday and, with his pace and ability to drive forward with the ball, his future has to be at full back.

    Coming along nicely.

Am I right in saying that was his first completed 90 mins yesterday?

The lad has no fear, also noticed when he conceded a corner he let Macey know re lack of communication, a lad not lacking leadership

I actually enjoyed seeing that as well, strangely enough.

At the start of him playing in the 1st team a lot of people found it easy to critisize him, but I thought he was a good young player from day 1, and I'm glad he's starting to impress people more, he's a cracking young player who's had to grow up really quickly in footballing terms. I certainly wouldn't rule out Mackie either in that position though. Good to have 2 really good young left backs at the club, apart from other things it stops the team from looking lop-sided in terms of speed.

Seen Kenny Millar say a few times on Twitter say he thinks long term Doig will be be a centre back, not seen him play there but surprised, the amount of energy he has I thought long term he would be a left back, remember hanlon playing there when he first came through and although he is good on the ball I think most people could see he would end up playing more central

Lot of learning to do and growing as he's still a skinny kid, it won't do his development any wrong learning the LB position

I thought it was another good night for young Doig. He puts a great variation of balls into the box and if we were going to score I felt it would have been through one of his crosses. He reminds me a lot of Kieran Tierney in his style. Was disappointed when he came off and thought we lost a bit of attacking momentum as a result. I hope he stays at Hibs for a few seasons but the real bonus is we have unearthed a valuable asset in a short space of time.

He’s fantastic going forward. Work to be done defensively. But his engine will get him out of a lot of trouble.

I’m assuming Ross doesn’t currently see him having the legs to last 90 mins....often subs him

Thought it was a strange substitution Doig was putting some decent balls in to the box
Like the look of him , hopefully keeps progressing.

Don’t think he has the legs yet. Based on footage he was breathing heavily when he and Hallberg won that corner in 2nd half. Looked like he was looking towards bench so maybe was asked how he was?

Great attitude, boundless energy and good performance tonight. Don't understand the Manager continually subbing him when he's one of our best players.

I appreciate headlines are often click bait

However, on Sky Sports Hibs page..."Celtic, Arsenal and Chelsea monitoring Doig".

Monitoring may not lead anywhere, but still testament to his potential.

Queue the 150k bid from Celtic!

His feet in the corner to keep the ball in and then meg Tavernier was top drawer.

I see he was at hearts before us? I wonder if he's a hibby or a tart. Not that it matters, just curious.

His Dad is a Jambo and a decent lad, used to be a wee winger for Edinburgh City back in the day!

It would surely take a ridiculous bid for Hibs to part company with him now as he looks like he’s going to develop into a very good player. He’s only 18 and is getting 1st team football. He won’t be going to Celtic as they won’t part with the money even though they got £11m for Frimpong. If he’s to leave Hibs for the EPL Id want, I know it’s unlikely, £2m + 50% sell on fee and loaned back to Hibs until the summer.

I would have rather kept him on last night even if he was tiring. Putting Cadden to LWB was a terrible move.

Feels like we’re being a bit over protective with Doig.

He's done well this season but really surprised it's been enough to attract EPL clubs. Realise its just paper talk and it might just be he's a name on a list somewhere but he needs to stay here imo and keep playing football at a decent level.

Huge amount of promise but still lots for him to work on.
