Looked quiet but was playing at number 10 which definitely isn't his best position.

When he was involved he looked good. On the fringes for most of it, was a bit too far up the pitch a lot of the time.

Could definitely see he has something. Match sharpness will come.

Getting those minutes into his legs and having play a part in a winning performance will do him wonders.

Think he would be immense with Scott Allan in the team. Like what I saw - for his physique he puts himself about a surprising amount and showed a few nice touches.

Didn’t think he was up to much but that was down to position as much as anything else, so won’t be judging him on that.

Bit rusty however he’s not played a competitive game in 10 months.
Deployed behind the striker which I don’t think is his best position, get him a bit deeper so he’s got the space to drive into and he’ll be very good signing.
Still showed glimpses of what he’s got ability wise and isn’t scared to mix it.
Him, Newell and Allan will be brilliant and all of a sudden gets rid of the boring tag some fans are labelling. If we can’t play good football with those 3, Boyle, Murphy and Nisbet then something not right.

With JI getting 70 odd valuable minutes on the park and for us to get the 3 pts was the mission today and it was mission completed. I'm sure he will have appreciated the start and will only get better

Decent touches I thought. Probably best to judge after a few weeks and games have gone by.

I wouldn't say the game passed him by but he was not as heavily involved as Gogic and Hallberg who both had very good games I thought. What he did was good though and I can see him bringing a bit more physicality to our midfield without letting the quality levels drop. Great for him to get 70+ minutes under his belt - I'm sure he'll have plenty more involvement in the latter half of the season.

Pretty quiet to be honest. But he wasn’t played for a long time. I watch a lot of English Championship though and this guy will be a really good signing. I was disappointed we only have him until the summer.

Like others i was impressed with what glimpses we seen but you could see him tire and go quiet. His physicality as well as ability could be a huge addition to this squad.

Why have you started a new thread FFS?
There already is one with this exact title.

Thought he looked like a good player who hasn't played for a long time, which to be fair is what he is.

I thot he was more of a number 6 or 8 than the 10 he played.
We desperately need Scott Allan back in number 10 as must be so frustrating for Kevin Nisbet playing in that side.

Thought he looked desperate to be involved and do something positive. That is what our midfield lacks most and although I'm no great fan of Allan we miss his spark. I think we might get spark, drive and determination from Irvine and he will be a really good signing

A big ask for the fella hes well short on match practice. Give him time he'll be a winner for us.
