    Interesting.

Howe likes his teams to attack and play football so in that respect he will be well suited to Celtc who need to take the game to their opponents most weeks. Coming in now makes sense so he can assess the squad properly ahead of a crucial summer recruitment wise.

Not sure how he will cope with the goldfish bowl though.

I think he’d be a big enough name. Good reputation down south.

Agreed but many think Celtic are a huge club globally. They wanted Pochettino, Mourinho ect in years gone by.

The ones I’be spoken to would want a bigger name.

I think he’d do well. He has a cracking record at Bournemouth.

Only delusional Celtc fans could possibly think they could attract that kind of name.

Why is this an announcement? The league is gone now and they will need to be seen to do something as they will get players from the world's greatest fans

I reckon Howe would be very interested.

He'll have seen the way Rodgers rebuilt/bolstered his reputation at Celtic and secured another good gig down south.

Decent manager and if he done well he'd find himself at the likes of Newcastle, Aston Villa or West Ham in 2 or 3 years.

He might be interested now that the leagues over. He was probably hesitant when they thought they had a chance cos he’d have been tarred with losing the ten.

Heard Eddie Howe mentioned weeks ago. He’d be a good replacement for Lennon if he’s backed in the transfer market. Unfortunately.

There’s a question mark over whether he can do it anywhere other than Bournemouth. He did leave there to manage Burnley briefly and it did not go well.

He’s also never won a big trophy. Rodgers had a much better cv when he came to Scotland. It would be a risk for sure.

While Rodgers had managed Liverpool he'd only won the play off final as a trophy.

His record at Bournemouth was outstanding when you look at it. His record in the English Football League is probably better than anyone and he done well to keep Bournemouth in the EPL aslong as he did.

He will improve Celtic as he is miles better than Lennon who has proven to be nothing better than an average manager at best. Howe will improve Celtic but if Gerrard stays at Sevco they will still be favourites for the league next season. Sevco will decline massively when Gerrard goes IMO.

immediately dint believe it because of this. There have been numerous made up nonsense in recent years. It may well be true but have my doubts though Celtic will definitely need to do something to get their fans inside. They are the luckiest club in the league there are no fans allowed in the grounds.

They’ve monumentally f***ed up the 10 in a row and they’ll be living that down for quite some time.

Such a poorly run club this season. Almost hearts-like in how bad their decision making has been at board level.

    howe is a good appointment.

Is it just me that thinks it’s odd to have a thread about Celtic marked as an ‘announcement’ on a Hibs board?

    Don’t rate Howe at all.

He’s one of these guys that just suits a certain club. He’ll bounce around a few more and end up back at Bournemouth in the Championship in a few years having picked some hefty pay-offs.

Celtic would be mental to go for him.

He done really well at Bournemouth but most of his success was down to the players that went on the journey from the third tier to the Premier with him. Superb achievement. However his record in the transfer market once being allowed to spend money was horrendous, most big money signings flopped big time.
