Isn't the reason for the abuse because he apparently supports the Govan mob?

Don't mind cliff and tam although I'd have Keith back as well, although he is a long time mate so maybe a bit biased! Really can't stand Tanner, just doesn't work in my opinion and a bit cheesy. Grant stott would be a shout for next season
    Keith's fine too.

You're the first person to mention that, as it happens. Thinks its more to do with him being sponsored by IJ Mellis

I think Hibs have got it pretty close to spot on with the coverage of games.

Cliff and Tam are a good team. Cliff gets a bit of stick from some quarters but he's one of the most neutral in house commentators I have heard and seems to have a decent grasp of the opposition. Tam is decent as far as Co commentators go. The sighing is a bit annoying but it implies he cares almost as much as we do. I don't mind Dave either even if some feel he commited a mortal sin by confusing Dundee and Dundee Utd.

The range of studio guests have been good. Yogi, JC, Garry O'connor, Alex Miller, Joelle Murray etc have all contributed something.

Tanner is the weak link. His delivery is stilted and his banter is forced. When talking about guests his handling of the obviously delicate Scott Allan situation was poor and created a bit of discomfort. It's all a bit Partridge.

On the whole I don't have too many complaints with what Hibs have served up. I hope I never have to watch football like this again but for now it just about does the job.
That is my view too. I don't mind Cliff at all. He has warmth and speaks pretty well. I want a pro Hibs commentator but not some of the frothing at the mouth types on other teams TV channels. Tam is fine too. The guests have been really good but Tanner fails to make the most of them. His interviewing of Scott Allan was truly atrocious and his patter and lack of Hibs knowledge doesn't help him.

Get a more natural studio lead and it would be a good programme. Losing some of the adverts would be good too but if they are bringing in the cash I can live with that. I'd be happier to have features on some of the advertisers particularly the local ones or ones where they are sponsoring because of a Hibs connection.

Personally I'd like to see less smarm and more of the fans' language, sweary or otherwise. Much easier for commentators to refer to the Arabs than mix up Dundee and well, the Arabs.
That would be a bit odd when there are no Arabs in the stadium. The Arabs are Utd Fans rather than the teams and the Team is the Terrors as far as I am aware

Good half time discussion point for the studio there

    No.

I don’t think he knows much about football so that doesn’t bother me. He’s just painful with a cheesy cringe factor that a lot of people don’t enjoy.

I’ve always thought he was an incredibly awkward interviewer who is exceptionally lucky to have the hit the heights he has in his career. I don’t think it’s wrong for people to want a Hibs man who knows his audience on Hibs TV. It just seems to be a bit of trend that teams have jumped on during Covid for clubs to hire mainstream tv guys - and it doesn’t always work.

Thought Tanner's comment about Kris Boyd was brilliant.

I thought Tanner was a wee bit better today. Perhaps us winning means it is easier for him to get a discussion going. His cheery chappy doesn't really work when we are getting pumped at home by Ross County.

I’m surprised it’s taken this long for Tanner to be discussed on here. I think you’ve hit the nail on the head in saying that being able to watch the games has been a blessing. An ounce, literally any ounce of normality throughout deeply challenging times.
What planet have you been on. He is constantly slated on here week in week out.

I've slagged Tanner constantly but I actually thought he wasn't bad today.

Having been with Hibs TV for a good few years now I'm actually impressed and amazed at how good and professional it has become - good job some of the moaners on here never had to watch it at the onset

... think the commentary and pre/post match team all do a fine job

He said that the Rangers game was on TV elsewhere but watch it on Hibs TV unless you want to listen to Kris Boyd talk about Rangers.

I’ll second/third you both. He is a decent enough anchorman in a well put together show. His why-would-you-want-to-listen-to-Kris-Boyd quip today was bordering on funny.

Might eventually forgive him for the hearts hearts glorious hearts comment after we won the cup when strachan talked about the heart in the hibs team that day.

I’m guessing the fact he was pitchside after the game that Ross had him doing some work in the stand with Scott Allan.

Joe is in the Hibs players bubble so wasn't allowed in the studio.
Think we have tightened up our Covid protocol a little.

Protocol is one thing but the players aren’t in a bubble. Don’t know why folk still continue to believe they are.

Makes complete sense. I missed the first ten minutes so only seen him at the end pitch side, good to hear them taking their bubbles seriously as well and staying within them, great work Hibs.

Exactly they are in no bubbles at all. The amount of players i seen today across scotland and England with fresh haircut was unbelievable. My barbers been shut since before New Year.
