Pear Schnaps. A little tummy tidier after a hefty meal.

I'm coming up on a year. Can't say I miss it but was never one for drinking in the house. Not sure I'll start again once the pubs open up again.

On that now. 1.5 litre bottles. At €1.35 a bottle I thought I'd give it a try. I've definitely had worse.

The equivalent would be £4.50 here. The tax and duty we pay here is ridiculous.

On the subject of cheap booze. I was in a supermarket in Funchal, Madeira and saw a bottle of wine priced at 99 cents. I popped one in the trolley and my wife told me to put it back pronto. Anyway I kept it and when we got to the checkout, the girl, who didn’t speak English, lifted the bottle and kept pointing to the wine shelf, prattling on in Portuguese. Eventually a guy behind me said she was telling me the wine was on offer - buy one get one free. I’ve got to say it was probably the worst wine I’ve the doubtful pleasure of tasting.

Just had a can of BrewDog’s guava and grapefruit pilsner and it’s lovely!

    Nothing flash here:

A double Famous Grouse [no ice] after a long shift while watching Four in a Bed in a Free House [husband on nights] with doggo curled up in front of the fire.

Carlsberg don't do heaven. If they did, it would look like the above.

Nothing wrong with a glass of Grouse.

I’m a whisky man, but last night I had a blood orange flavoured gin and Mediterranean flavoured tonic, with a slice of orange and a sprig of rosemary .......... no parasol. It was very drinkable.

Two bottles of Bavaria lager at 11pm last night and I still have a headache.

Cheap lager that has never been near Germany, let alone Bavaria. Terrible metallic flavour, vile.

I will stick to Warsteiner in future !

I'm a bitter drinker, but dont find it tastes well in cans so dont bother buying any. I've had the odd bottle of crabbies, or dark fruits on a Saturday, but i've found out through lockdown that i've started to enjoy bottled lager.

Does not matter what, but Heineken or Corona are fine by me.

I bought a case of Heineken a few weeks ago, and the other half and i decided to have a drink, she was on pink gin and me the heineken.

We started early around 6ish, and by 9ish i'd had about 8 or 9 bottles, and she was a bit tipsy. I thought to myself, i'm fine with this, i might even start drinking them when the pubs open again, as they are having very little effect.

It was only when i went to get another bottle, to see what strength they were that i noticed they were Heineken zero.

To be fair, they taste alright, and i'd certainly drink them on a night out if i needed to drive.

A red wine from Uruguay tonight. Its fair, not the best but not bad a tannat merlot. A first for me from Uruguay.

Knowing Uruguay its likely to have a kick to it, remembering Uruguay's kick to to kill policy as exemplified by Mexico 86

Haven't had a beer in 2021 yet. Last drink was a Guinness on December 30th.

I'm the same. I hammered it a bit during the 1st lockdown and had a fair whack over Christmas so decided to give it a rest for a bit. Can't say I really miss it. The major difference I've noticed is how much better I'm sleeping. I go to bed, fall asleep quickly and that's me until morning.

I've decided I'm going to stick with the no drinking until I can get a proper pint in a pub that feels like a pub. If that's a few months down the line then so be it. My Pepsi Max Cherry and soda and blackcurrant will do me for now.

Not quite a tipple but made a bl00dy good (pardon the pun) virgin bloody mary (ie no vodka) this morning. No finer drink for a Sunday morning.

Few pints of goose Island ipa from the perfect draft machine as I watched the game this afternoon.

Currently waiting on the Lowenbrau keg that is in it now hitting the magic 3 degrees before getting wired in.

Currently enjoying a Tanqueray and slimline tonic, with ice and lemon.

I'll be progressing onto a glass or two of The Black Stump Durif Shiraz later. Lovely stuff.

I’ve been hammering it fairly regularly since this whole pandemic nonsense started. The Mrs and I decided to give it a rest over Lent, I’m already sleeping better and don’t really miss it all.
