Santos are not from Sao Paulo. They are from Santos which is 34 miles from Sao Paolo.

Forca Santos! Get into those big city boys!
They play in the Paulista Championship and Santos is in the state of São Paulo, so yes, they ARE from São Paulo.

But I know what you mean, they are down on the coast, away from the other 3 in the big city, in their own great city, so they can see themselves as different, or better even, as Santos is a way nicer place than
    São Paulo city.

    Anyway, they are getting pumped.

True but it is in the state of Sao Paulo
that is very true (although it is in the same State not City). It still took us nearly 2 hours to travel from San Paulo to Santos!

    Unlucky son.

Cheer yourself up with Palmeiras x Corinthians just kicking off now.
One of the biggest rivalries in football.

Nothing to do with the programme but for anyone interested there’s an article in this quarter’s Nutmeg Magazine on this trip to Brazil.
Arrived this morning. Some read and amazing to think it was the Brazilians who were disappointed in a Hibs side they expected more of but the players were exhausted and the trip was seen as a hardship!
Great wee story about Bobby Johnstone being asked to persuade Gordon Smith to sign up for one of the Brazilian sides and Garrincha just missing out on making his Botafogo debut v us....

I haven't read all the way through this thread, so apologies if it's already been mentioned, but is there not also a magazine article from the 50s which was written, I think, by a Brazilian journalist and focuses on how impressed those at the tournament were by football played by Hibs (the Famous Five in particular)?

The Nutmeg article appears to suggest something different to that.

There’s reference in the article to a (mythical) article I think - mentioned in a couple of autobiography’s but no evidence of it.

Palmeiras v Santos today in the final of Libertadores at 8pm.

45 degrees in the Maracana today!!

Here's our own, Mr Irvine Welsh, in Brazil getting drunk and talking about Hibs. Some boy likes.

According to this it was the 1970 Brazilian football encyclopedia which waxed lyrical about Hibs' style of play:

👍🏼 But that’s an article about the article/chapter - is there evidence of the existence of the article?
