    Mathie

When does he become accountable for the dross we’re watching?

    Give it a break.

2 awful results back to back but let’s not completely overreact.

Its been a good season up until last week. 4th in the league and a semi final.

Admittedly our next 4 or so fixtures are a concern as I can’t see us racking up many points in those, getting 6 off the last 2 games would have significantly helped.

He's currently accountable for a 4th place Hibs team. 2 dreadful results that we must improve on, no doubt, but if the season ended tomorrow I'd be fairly happy

    He is Teflon Don

This is the man who was involved in the 4 year deals for McGregor and Gray.

    Mallan 4 Year Contract
    Hallberg 3 Year Contract
    Tom James 3 Year Deal

All players Jack Ross does not trust in our current squad.

The list could go on and on.

All players he does not trust, pretty sure Hallberg and mallan have started the last few weeks have they not?

While he was head of player recruitment, would it not have been George Craig & LD that agreed any contracts?

I can’t believe he’s managing to escape all the criticism of being 4th in the league, reaching semis of the Scottish Cup and League cup and gathering the 3rd most points over the course of 2020. Terrible.

So is he teflon don or a laptop guy with no leadership skills? Why does he make you so angry that you feel the need to keep having a go at the guy?

    Genuine questions here...

    Is that a rhetorical question?
And if you got an answer from someone on the forum would that suffice?
Have you read any articles or listened to any podcasts where he’s been interviewed maybe then you can form an opinion as much as another fan?

The guy makes a valid point about taking the emotion out of the game when analysing performances, boring as that may sound it is sensible, otherwise players are going from heroes to zeroes and vice versa within a short time frame, some fans though they are entitled to their opinions do not offer constructive criticism and that in itself is counter productive. There are a lot of factors that can influence football matches, just take a look at the Celtic situation with their multi million pound squad, they have also lost to Livingston and Ross County this season.
The manager and coaching staff will be well aware of the problems that exist as they try to build a better team and will look to strengthen as they go along, the defeats will probably give them a better idea of our weaknesses than the victories, it is obvious to all of us that the balance of the team at times is not correct and so we have periods of consistency and unfortunately inconsistency.
I am far from being an expert but I have watched numerous Hibs teams over a period of half a century, I’ve seen worse and I’ve seen better.

Regarding SDG and Daz pretty sure it was LD and GC who agreed their deals, not Mathie. I remember reading an article from GC describing the details of their new contracts.

If Mathie is getting flak for the poor signings like James are we giving him credit for Nisbet and his long term deal ?

No as with everything else people will just cherry pick the facts (?) that suit their argument to justify the latest witch hunt.

One thing that irks is why they are automatic bench choices every game.do we not have other players that could gain experience of being on the bench getting some game time ..

Right now no, we're down to the bare bones squad wise, a fully fit squad might see only one on the bench as defensive cover.

He identifies players that the Manager has no intention of signing.

I think there should be a bit of a clear out at the End of a season .
    McGregor
    Gray
    Stevenson
    Hallberg

    My undecided clear outs

    Mallan
    Gogic

So potentially 6 spaces for players who are better

Yes, rhetorical question. Mathie's performance should equally be questioned the same as Jack Ross. The whole squad is a rebuild job. Signing players from St Mirren is not the answer. Do these people realise how big Hibs are in Scottish Football.

Who should we be signing players from? Where did we get our best player of recent years?

Yes, one player is fair enough. Not the whole setup from ST Mirren.

I hope it’s not him selling the club to potential new signings, bored the life out of me, in all honesty came over very aloof and emotionless yesterday, PR stunt gone bad. “Sorry, not hear to critique or express an opinion on today’s game.....but let me tell you about how wonderful we are at developing youth players and what a fantastic structure we have in place” Sorry Graham but I couldn’t give 2 hoots about our structure or youth development, I want to see my hibs first XI playing combative entertaining football, aren’t you head of sporting performance or whatever the title is? And by the way our wonderful structure has generated one first team regular in around 10 years, Ryan Porteous. Josh Doig looks like the potential 2nd in 10 years.....other clubs with nowhere near our facilities and resources are producing far more.

    Well said 👏

Far too soft as a club.
