Any rumours about players this decade?
Could be an interesting last 10 days or son with JR saying he's hopeful of getting in another couple of players in with maybe a few bodies moving the other way which may be loans or permanents.

Wonder what positions he's looking to fill.

if we could pull another quality striker out of the bag, you’ve got to think that 2nd isn’t impossible. If Lennon stays they are heading for absolute freefall.

I used to play 2 a side football on a Sunday night at Crossroads with John Greig, Pat Stanton, 4 others who all turned pro & occasionally Kenny Buchanan. Pat's cousin Jimmy (Mickey) McManus was the best player by far. For some reason no one seemed that keen to be my partner!! 😁
I used to go when it was still at Coupar Street school. Two a side with a woollen rag ball. Proudest moment when my pal and I won the tournament one night and Eric Gardiner took us to the canteen for a free choice. I left when I joined the BB.Not enough nights in the week.

    Wow Brog! Great story
There was a Jimmy McManus that moved from Edinburgh Norton and signed for Dundee Utd and later Falkirk.
    Is it the same guy?

Just goes to show. People wrap themselves up in a particular clubs colours and I just assumed he was a Weedgie.

John Greig was a radio pundit on that famous day at Dens in 86 you could tell he was gutted when Sir Albert slotted in the second goal. Pleasing.

I lived up there for 30 years and don’t remember that. Can’t think of any sports shops except maybe a ski shop

    Yep for Sandy J.

IIRC Sandy used to pop into Leslies Bar now and then.

SJ did because Peter Collins got him in to train us with Gracemount Rovers at the old Dr Guthrie’s complex on Lasswade Road.

As much as I am enjoying reading all this old chat, and I genuinely am, you guys are killing me. I saw there were 2 new pages on this thread and thought we had ourselves a new striker.
Anyway we don't so ignore me and carry on.

Greig had a sports shop on the royal mile, quite near the bottom.

Windows always seemed to be boarded up for some reason?

  22. #2751
Not a rumour, merely a suggestion, and I'm happy if it gets shot down, but thought it would spark some conversation.

With Celtic in disarray, would it be worth trying to get Klimala on loan until the end of the season? Would obviously prefer Leigh of course, however Klimala may be more realistic? I've only seen him a couple times, but I think he's scored a couple against us in friendlies and the earlier league match Vs them.

Don't think they'd loan a player to their rivals for second place 😉. Six points in it haha.

On paper he’d be a decent signing I think. I can’t say I know anything about him though.

I can see anyone getting anything out of Celtic right now... they might give us Lennon.

In the late 70’s I used to see Greig, Sandy Jardine and Chris, forget his surname (striker) boarding the train at Haymarket in the morning
