Do they not play all their games at Hampden anyway ?

They have been but I believe they have plans to move to Lesser Hampden after selling Hampden to the SFA.

Willie Haughey, Celtic fan that gave Queens Park loads of cash to ensure the national stadium stayed in Glasgow.
Does he not have an administration event at Livi on his CV? Or an I misrembering that?

If its true Queens Park makes sense, close to home for her and I'm pretty sure not as high pressured as some of the offers she will have received.

On the other hand having turned professional and as I understand it full time, the premiership must be their ultimate goal. It's some challenge .... Partick Thistle have been around forever, they have an ok stadium, a reputation as a family club and also in my opinion attractive colours, they are ideally placed as the alternative to the bigot fest and yet even as a premiership club can barely attract more than 4000* Weegies to turn up on a Saturday and therein lies Queen's Parks problem.

Yes you can make the top league if you throw enough money at it ( see Gretna ) but in order to sustain yourself as a regular top flight club you have to grow a reasonable fan base, if you can't you will suffer for it ( see Gretna ) and as Partick Thistle have proved that isn't easy in Glasgow with the bigot brothers literally on your doorstep.

Queens Park could well make the top league eventually, edging out the likes of Dundee, Dunfermline, Ayr Utd and ICT ....... But lets forget the old 'on merit' argument for the time being, does our top league really need another Hamilton Accies or Livvi with so few supporters they would easily fit into a decent sized JD Wetherspoons?

    * ... Fair play to Partick mind, coz their away support regularly belies their home attendances.
No matter what the crowds are & what team it is, if they win promotion to the top flight on merit well done to them. When I first went to see Hibs at ER in the 80s we could barely make the 5k mark.

Yep, there were some very sparsely attended games back then - made to look all the more sparse by the vast open terracing still in place. It could be strange to find yourself shivering among circa 4k diehards against Motherwell one week and then 25k would roll up for a game against Rangers the next week.

When you think back to that time you realise what a crumbling, rusting dump ER had become.

The footprint of the site at Lesser Hampden isn’t big enough to build a stadium of that magnitude.

It might be interesting but going from one of the biggest clubs in the country to one of the smallest can't be described as anything other than bizarre.

Still, at least it's not another Glasgow club.
If this turns out to be true I can only assume there are personal as well as professional circumstances at play. If she wanted to to take a step up the ladder and really broaden her experience you'd imagine she'd be looking at a club down south.

Mind you, she strikes me as somebody with a lot of sincerity (witness the way she decided to take the Hibs job even after we'd been relegated and Rod said he'd understand if she wanted to back out) and maybe there's something about the Queen's Park project which ticks the right boxes for her.

She'll do a good job wherever she goes and I'm very grateful for her input at Hibs.

It always sounded like Laura was preoccupied with her other football interest.

I emailed her about a matter about 2 months ago....still waiting on a reply.

Hope she answers her correspondence a bit quicker, or at all, at Glasgow city.

I know a guy, friend of a friend, who was interested in a collaboration with Hibs and his business, his idea didn’t float Laura’s boat, he was then on the end of a hard sell to invest at her ‘other club’.

She wasn't very good at Hibs was she. Far too preoccupied with GC

I have no knowledge of how good she is at her job but did read an article not that long ago indicating she went through a personal tragedy in her personal life.

Very sorry to hear that, but I never understood why Hibs employed someone who was also involved with our biggest rivals to the Hibs Ladies team. Baffling.

Leeann has been our best 'signing' this decade without a shadow of doubt. Biggest attendances, cup win, promotion, far better connections between fans and club, better media, more professional community approach, really good signings in the main, and tireless in her work ethic. Superb ambassador and figurehead for Hibernian Football Club.

She's been less front-facing since the takeover admittedly, but she goes with all my very best wishes and hope she is as successful in her next venture.

She was the catalyst for many older fans falling back in love with the club again - wishing you every success and good health Leeann

That’s quite a compliment. She did a very good job for a number of years....but I can’t put her ahead of people who led the team or put the strip on..she is a good administrator. Exactly what we needed at the time ,,but it’s results on the pitch that brought the love back..Stubbs, Gray, McGregor, Cummings, Stevenson, Mcginn etc etc. Have all done much more for Hibs than Leeann. I take nothing away from her, other than put her role in perspective .

Not the first time I’ve heard that, plus I’m still unsure what her qualifications were for getting the job in the first place.
