I like the David Luiz chat. You can expand your argument about him not being pish because he tries things and makes mistakes to goalkeepers. There are risk takers and risk averse keepers. David James was IMO the best British keeper of the last 30 years. Before lockdown I got into a lot of pub arguments about this . He came for cross after cross and through ball after through ball and was so fast and physically dominant and had maximum confidence, his defenders loved him. But he inevitably spills three out of a thousand and he gets called Calamity James. And he probably won’t get remembered as an all time great. But De Gea had three or four seasons when he was being touted as the best in the world during which time he was a risk averse ******bag who left every difficult ball for his defence to deal with. A great instinctive keeper but I’d rather have a risk taker anytime.

Players that try things are always the ones that stand out because when they go wrong it can quite often be catastrophic.

Scott Alan can try ten passes and misplaced them but it’s worth it for the one that he sends straight through the Rangers team for Horgan to score.
