I can’t understand how anyone could have hearts as favourites for this game.

that doesn’t mean they won’t win of course, unfortunately, as we all know too well... but for any neutral looking at this fixture we are ahead in every single way.

I predict those odds will change quite a bit by kick off time.

I'd be surprised if we don't start as favourites at all bookmakers.

On recent form on paper you'd think we'd be nearer evens and them nearer 2/1. I have sometimes had a wee "compensation saver bet" on the opposition for Scotland games but even if them lot were 5/1 on Saturday I just couldn't. Don't want any maroon tinted winnings in my wallet.
Foolish to ignore the lure of the maroon pound, you will regret it.

We will all miss the maroon pound and go out of business just like every other club in the SPFL including Rangers and Celtic. Juventus, Man Utd and Real Madrid too.

    Or something like that.

    All the bookies.

Reality check for anyone thinking this will be easy.

Jack Ross read this too please and get every single player up for this and not a stroll in the park ****.
In conclusion, Hearts aren't favourites with All the bookies. Fake news.

Hibs 33/20 Hearts 6/4 (30/20) at coral as well
But Hibs shorter to win cup 5/1 against them at 8/1.bookies must think arethey some sort of bogey team to us and the fact we've never beat them at hampden. I'll be betting Hibs to reach the final. It will be shorter but takes account of xtra time penalties etc plus bookie don't like that as it only a 2 horse race and don't advertise it. You've got to ask for it.

I do laugh when Hearts fans say they always beat us at Hampden. There has only ever been 2 games played at Hampden between the 2 clubs, it's not as if we play them there every year.

We could equally say we always beat Real Madrid at Easter Road.

Without meaning to sound over confident these strike me as great prices to get some money on the Hibees.

The Yams may have had a decent start to their campaign but they are two games in against our 11 - and we have been horsed in Europe by Scandinavian sides under similar circumstances with the roles reversed.

I hope I'm right - I've no doubt they will be up for it (they always are) - but the gap in match fitness will hopefully be decisive.

I think its safe to say that derbies are a completely unknown quantity, regardless of form. Hearts have a better record in the derby, seems logical to me.

Just got on with Hills at 17/10, went back in and now changed to 13/8 both teams. Take it a lot of us jumped on the 17/10

  11. #40
Bookies aren't sure without Betfair to guide them. 7/4 available for us and 17/10 for them. Ladbrokes don't want to know 6/4 either team. Pinnacle 2.59 them and 2.68 us

My Hearts favourites were Hans Eskillson, Gordon Petric and Tepi Moilanen. Special mention for Malaury Martin.

Remember the apparently more generous prices may well only be for win in 90 minutes?

Seem generous if they're either team to win outright.

Based on current form and our record against Hearts in the cup, it looks like a decent bet.

I do not bet on footie but this one is tempting. I will settle though for a win without any extra cash

Predicting a close win and the Jambos saying they do not care ... championship more important, cup already degraded blah blah

Now then... you’ve missed out on the man who put the “King” into playing (or rather not playing) for the Jambos: Larryea Kingston - remarkable innings not playing a game for the final 2 seasons at the age of 43 ;)

They are 90 minute prices. If they were to win the tie you could back both teams and be guaranteed to win.

Shirley i am not alone in thinking this is the game we get even by dishing out a doing by several goals (3+)?

I’m still going to back us to win, make no mistake about that but I’m highlighting for a neutral this is no walk in the park. We will have to be at our upmost best to get a result.

It's about time someone predicted a thumping ahead of a derby.

It's not been our time to get even and pump them since the last derby.

Is it not the case the bookies have this as an even bet and they are adjusting their odds based on the cash put on each team?

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

You can get close to even money for Hibs to win in the "draw no bet" market, which is very tempting. You have the "insurance" of knowing you will get your money back if the game ends all square after 90 minutes.

So bookies are spreading the risk over 90 minutes and as ever pricing is reflecting where the money is going and their desire to keep as much of it as possible rather than just the actual difference between the 2 teams. Not that unusual. They often cover a chunk of their outright risk when there's a draw in 90 minutes.

Agree that's a decent price for draw no bet.

Stick with me you'll be alright boys. This is the game we have been warming up for. The weekends result against killie was massive going into this game mentally. That was a tough game and we Passed the test. We will score a few goals on Saturday. Looking through a betting perspective and I think hibs are a great price. Be interesting to see what they do when we go a couple goals infront. Do they just sit in for damage limitation or do they come on to us and allow us to pick them off?
