I was shocked to read that Kevin McCarra died of Alzheimer's yesterday. He was only 62.

Had the pleasure of his company a couple of times.
He was a brilliant journalist and a thoroughly nice person.
One of the times I met him was after a game at Parkhead . He was dumbfounded by the quality of a late Steven Tweed qualiser against his beloved Celtic, he was not at all being disrespectful about Tweedy but said that of all the players on the park the big man (a centre half remember) would have been the last one he would have predicted to come up with such a sublime finish. He went on about it for ages and was highly amusing.
He had been unwell for some time.
Gone at just 62 from Alzheimer’s, a tragedy. Rest in a Peace Kevin.Last edited by Bobby Moore; 25-10-2020 at 04:10 PM.
