    Hard to believe !

    What a great read.

When you read how officials now are flown in for European matches and put up in the finest hotels read this article and have a little smile.

Arthur Ellis was the main man in refereeing circles in the 1950s but what about his wee brother !!

There's history and then there's Hibs history..

ps I remember him on It's a Knockout

Interesting read. Was the ref for all Hibs European Cup games from 2nd round to the semi final.
Also remember him from It's a knockout

Thanks for that DJ, it was an interesting read and I didn't know about his Hibs connection.

I met Arthur Ellis when I, ahem, took part in It's a Knockout and he was a dead gen bloke and quite witty. We won our local heat and qualified to take part in the 'British Final' at Charnock Richard as well as a European away event in Tesserete, Switzerland.

I'm on Dave TV from time to time!
