    Clayton Donaldson

Scored for Bradford City today. He's 36, I liked him. Should he have stayed?

Best thing he done was leave us, Collins too

Hardly give them a chance nearly done some with Doidge
    Eh? Are you pished?

Him and Collins had really good careers since leaving. Good for them.

We didn't really give Donaldson much chance. His record is something like 6 goals in 18 games.

Always remember going to see him at livi for his debut after all the hype about him and didnt think mutch of him, legs like matchsticks is what i remember. I know he went on to have a good career.

You could see he was talented in his time at Hibs. I think the manager didn't know how to use him.

I seem to recall him winning a fee pens too. Had great pace and defenders just chopped him down.

He played 21 games and scored 6 goals (4 of them penalties).

Heís one of those players whose time at Hibs is remembered differently from how it actually was.

We were right to get rid.

File alongside James Collins, some....but very few, players leave Hibs and go onto improve. Can't recall much fuss when he left, seemed like the right decision at the time.

Donít know why but I assumed you meant John Collins, as it was he who signed him.

Who hasnít really, when compared to James Collins.

Strange too, for he had a few rough edges as a manager I thought John Collins could have been excellent.

I agree re John Collins. He had his faults and ultimately he has to carry the can for his signings. However I thought he was unlucky to have come in under Petrieís time and not Dempsterís time. Under the professional set up and proper recruitment department we have today he would have excelled IMO. He also hamstrung himself getting Craig as his assistant, we only have to look at Stubbs, a fellow inexperienced manager, to see how important having the right assistant beside you is.

When I heard him talk about his time at Monaco and how much of an eye opener it was in terms of professionalism and training etc, I canít help but feel weíre missing a trick not having him involved in the youth set up/east Mains. Although itís probably down to him not wanting those roles or not feasible.

There was absolutely no doubt that Collins had a wealth of experience of the top level and knew the club well. It looked a great fit for the club. On paper it was a brilliant appointment. His problem was articulating that experience of the very top level in to a way the players could buy in to. Man management was the missing ingredient for Collins and unfortunately for everyone that's the most important one.

    Donaldson
    Collins
    Eoin Doyle

All average for us but all have had decent careers in England.

Always liked Doyle you could see he had something he just arrived at the wrong time,

Clayton also had something but looked far too lightweight when he was here.

Collins was just MEH wanted him to be good be good but he wasn’t

Heís gone on to have a fine career though, scored goals almost everywhere. Definite argument he would have developed into a fine player for us.

CD was mega fast but had a lousy first touch.

He won a few penalties and scored a few goals but didn't bring a lot to the side in terms of link up play etc. I was not that bothered to see him go but not surprised that he developed and had a decent career.

Falkirk away? Did he not get sent off too?

I liked him. He was lazy. Replacing the players we lost he was a losing battle.

I agree with them, honestly believe folk that couldnít see Collins and Donaldson were very decent players mustíve went to Easter road with their eyes shut.blatently obvious both had real potential to do damage up here.

Both were unlucky Collins was Griffiths replacement and the fact we paid for him under a manager clinging on to his position made it a real up hill struggle for the laddie to do well at hibs,a couple of missed chances and half the stadium had made their mind up on Collins being garbage.fenlon then left and butcher was well butcher.boys work rate was second to none in that team at that time.clear to me in my limited football brain this guy had something.

Donaldson flitted in and out of games from my memory but a great eye for goal and some finisher, would have made a good name for himself given more time at us no doubt for me now and at the time.
