    Great opening lines.

Watching a good programme about the Mississippi tonight, it brought to mind one of my favourite and iconic opening lines to a song : “The Mississippi delta was shining like a national guitar”. from Paul Simon’s ‘Graceland’....... so visually emotive. Any others?

'All children, except one, grow up'

Peter Pan was the 1st book I can remember being unable to put down. Of course parts of it haven't aged well but it's a brilliant children's book.

    Here's a couple people should know;

"As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster."

"I believe in America. America has made my fortune. And I raised my daughter in the American fashion."

    First one is Goodfellas
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

    I look at you all,
see the love there that's sleeping,
    While my guitar gently weeps.

    And you may find yourself
    Living in a shotgun shack
    And you may find yourself
In another part of the world
    And you may find yourself
Behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house
    With a beautiful wife
And you may ask yourself, well
    How did I get here?

    My favourite:

I bought a toothbrush, some toothpaste
    A flannel for my face
    Pyjamas, a hairbrush
    New shoes and a case
    I said to my reflection
"Let's get out of this place"

    Sorry if too long!

I saw him in Glasgow around the same time. It was his farewell tour I think but he hinted that he might be back in ten years.

The only other time I saw PS live was at the SSCE in 1990 with my late wife. It was called the ‘Born at the Right Time Tour’.
