Another win for Josh - but that was a very dubious finish - that guy would get an Oscar for his performance when he went down

Or it was a totally toxic body punch from Taylor? I’ve had enough of conspiracy theories for one year, lol. Body punches are very deceptive in boxing.

    Anyway;

Bring on Ramirez, Josh is going to rule this division. Hopefully in front of a Scottish crowd.

Is that the last 4 fighters Taylor had fought now who’ve previously been undefeated? With a combined record of 90-odd and 0? Incredible. Hope he gets the Ramirez fight in Scotland could be some night.

Hopefully his next fight is in Las Vegas next year and all the Covid 19 stuff is behind us. I’ve always wanted to go to big fight over there and supporting Taylor would fantastic with a few hundred Hibbies.

His last 5 opponents had a record of 110 and 1, to be going for undisputed after 17 fights and already having the ring magazine belt and the Ali trophy is frankly ridiculous

At his beloved Easter Road? Nice to see him with his Lochend Boxing top in one of the interviews yesterday as well 🙂

Easter Road would probably only be possible in June.
The Castle would only be possible in July and too small at around 8k
I’d would expect the Ramirez fight to be Feb in Vegas, Covid permitting. Then hopefully get his next fight at ER.

Anyone know what the capacity of Easter Road would be for a Taylor fight?

Nobody on here would know as it would be agreed with the council. I suspect that as Boxing Crowds are known to be rather lively shall we say and the event wouldn't likely end until about 11pm it would be less than what it is for a football game.

Sources: Jack Catterall, the WBO's No.1 contender at 140 pounds has agreed to step aside to allow Josh Taylor-Jose Ramirez to proceed for all four belts in early 2021. In return, Catterall has been assured he'll receive an immediate shot at the winner.

Quite a clever move, he would have had to beat both to get his hands on all four belts, now he only has to beat one.

Depending on the terms he might find himself not fighting the winner for all the belts.

Suppose you are right. I always think its a shame when one fighter holds all four and they split them up again.

In my ideal wee world there would only be one ruling body. Two semis and a final if four different holders and all divisions could be down to one world champion.

The best all fighting each other is what should happen but it's all about the money.

Agreed, but it doesn't help the overall perception of the sport.

Couldn’t agree more. A Taylor fight at ER would be amazing.

It's huge now. The top boxing fights are still bigger, but I think UFC is growing.

    it's an age thing.
Under 30's are more likely to stay up all night to watch UFC than they are boxing.

There are other MMA fighting promotions with their own champions though, such as Bellator, it is just that UFC is the biggest and most wealthy. It's more similar to the fact that most casual fans only recognise WWE/WWF wrestlers when there are many smaller promotions.

    Wwe is boxing
    Aew is mma.

Boxing still pulls the big numbers and the big money, but aeq is the upstart that gets the younger demo.

Also, there's more cowboys in aew/ufc
