    League Cup draw

1pm today. We're in the North section again along with the other top seeds St Johnstone, Ross County and Hearts.

From what I remember, we're guaranteed a home game against the second seeds, and then away, home and away against the teams drawn 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively.

So we could be playing our League Cup QF three days before our Scottish Cup final?

Am I right in thinking that in previous years we find out the groups at the draw but not the actual ties, dates and venues until a few days later?

Who has tv rights to this cup?
    Cougars!!!

I thought the group stage had been scrapped for this season. Seems madness to play all these games when the calendar is so tight. Suppose the positives are that we will probably use youngsters and players on the edge of the first team

We’ll have to because we’ll have a good few away on international duty

Marciano and Boyle are the only international regulars I can think of in our team at the moment.

I suppose Porteous and Doidge might be due call ups too, which would certainly stretch the squad a good bit further.

Even although Alloa's about 16 miles further north than Edinburgh!

Why didn’t we go back to straight knockout given the fixture congestion?

Seems mad to cram these games in the middle of the season. Sort of worked when they were competitive pre seasons, this seems crazy.

Feels more of an east section than North.

And how do hearts get to be seeded above Dundee United. I smell some corruption to make up for the demotion.

To be fair, they finished above Dundee Utd.

Brora is quite a bit far North?
Wonder if we’ll be able to buy games via Hibs, as I doubt we’ll be getting in by October

If you have free view, the draw is live at 1pm on Channel 64

Marciano and Boyle are certs, I’d be very surprised if Doidge isn’t away, Nisbet could be away, Horgan’s old manager at Dundalk is the new Ireland manager so he might be in with a shout if he keeps playing well. Doig will probably be in one of the Scotland youth teams as will Porteous if he’s still eligible for the 21s. We’ll be fine against the unseeded teams but I’d rather avoid United and probably Caley too

Aside from Dundee all teams we haven't played in a while (or have never played) too.
