Absolutely should have been brought in to the squad. Not sure we have a player as direct as Martin suppose Forrest apart. Might have stopped him picking up injuries also.

The decision even at the time not to call boyle up was terrible, and still he has improved further.massive unforgivable mistake that will tarnish mcleish's reputation in my eyes forever more.and I really enjoyed his time at hibs as manager and rated him highly.

Unfortunately as often happens, playing for hibs makes it hard to get a game for scotland.in your place will be crap english based mediocre players and old firm journeymen before you are considered.

Dangerous talent boyle, strikes fear into any defence,is the most rounded forward ive seen at hibs,a joy to watch more often than not.

Dreaming he stays at easter road, but preparing myself for his exit.which will be a hard blow.

Hopefully we get the deserved asking price, and the money is spent on an adequate replacement.

Alex McLeish hang your head in shame!!

    That's a bold claim...

I'd have Griffiths, Fletcher and GoC ahead of him, and that's without thinking hard

Couldn’t help noticing on Sportscene that he seemed to have a squirrel growing on his forehead... pretty sure he was balding a year ago.

Absolute nonsense that he wasn’t called up to the Scotland squad when you look at some of the absolute dross and hammer throwers that have been called up in recent times.

Why does he love sticking the boot into us? We just spent £250k on nisbet and he thinks we’d take the same back for our best player because we’re ‘in financial difficulty’ (we’re clearly not). Guys an absolute walter.

Trying to test us now that the ‘Tache’ has left us. Can you imagine Rodders entertaining a derisory offer like this. I think we’ll find that Ron didn’t get to where he is today by being influenced by our third rate mainstream media.

Because we removed his mate from the manager's job.

We would make more money from merchandise sales by keeping Martin Boyle, beating Hearts in the Scottish Cup semis and (who knows) going for it in the final.

WHen it comes to the Scottlsh Cup and derbies, and the choice of cashing in on a player that frightens the opposition or keeping him for the big game, I'm a 2016 kind of guy, rather than a 2006 kind of guy (when we cashed in on Garry O, giving Hearts a massive boost before the semi final, or when Hearts sold Osman Sow in 2016 just before the Hanlon game and the money spinning reply)

Whilst i agree with what you have written, to a degree, i can understand if we do sell him. We are always going on about signing young players, develop them and then sell them on. There was widespread approval that we got Nisbet for 4 years for that very reason. If we decide not to take this course, and keep MB, then im not going to critisize the board if they dont spend as much cash in Jan or next summer. Say we get 1 mill, then thats at least 3/4 players on decent wages.

It would be interesting, in that it would show Celtc learned absolutely nothing from the John McGinn fiasco.

Kris Commons seems like a nice guy, but should be nowhere near commenting on football - despite his desire to be a pundit, he brings nothing to the table outside of his love for Celtic.

A more well spoken Hartson is the nicest thing I could say about that comment.

Oh and Celtic would be interested in £2m bid for Edouard....

  26. #26
Try 3 million and discussions can start Kris, you utter idiot.

  27. #27
I think if we got a million we would take it. Last year of contract et Al. Wish we could do a CumDog style deal with him

One thing I would say, although him playing for Celtic would make me sick, I would have no problem with MB making him and his family some decent wedge.

Cup winning legend but probably on £150k at ER (good money, but its a short career etc).

Apparently the average salary at Celtic is just shy of £900k...............not to be sniffed at.

A 3 year deal (not necessarily at Celtic) and he should be set for life.

I think he'll stay. More value in keeping him given the circumstances and I don't think he's kicking the door down to leave.

Agree it was daft to let him go a become an Australian internationalist

AMc has no vision at all

Yes I think he'll leave on a free transfer this summer, that way he can get mega bucks with a signing on fee

**** for us but can't really begrudge him having been a great player for us for years
