Often happens when you sign a whole load of players for big money

Folk seem to expect it to click instantantly

Poor show from The Huns of the south if this is correct. He's had a sticky last couple of months but got them Champions League last year in his 1st season. Football during the pandemic

This season as well, there’s barely enough time between games to do much training and team building stuff will be non-existent .

Not even sure about Tuchel, he has a name as being an elite manager without really doing much, Dortmund where nice to watch but didn’t really put up a fight, PSG suppose he took them a bit closer to the CL than anyone else but the rest should be guarenteed domestically with the finance available.

Might get the best out Werner and Havertz but they’ll need to change to counter attacking team for that IMO.

To be fair I don't see anything with Havertz

Looks far to slow to make it in that league

Why would his pace matter more in England than Germany? He is a quality player, just not showing it so far for whatever reason.

He is no slower than guys like De Bruyne, Bergkamp etc and they are some of the best to play in that league.

He also had covid. Effects of that could be hugely significant.

He’s actually pretty quick as well, but he’s playing in a bigger team so other teams sit back and defend against leaving less space in behind, Werner suffering for it as well.

Slow of thought more than anything else

Its probably him adjusting to the league as he simply can't be as bad a player as he has looked

I mind Manu Petit was ridiculed his first year or so in the prem, looked really poor. Guess some players take longer than others to adapt

I cant see a club like Chelsea playing a player who isnt 100% fit let alone recovering from any effects of Covid. Sometimes a player is a good fit for with a Club and its style of play tactics etc sometimes it doesnt work, some players take longer to settle than others. I was a bit surprised Chelsea brought him in to be honest, maybe a new manager can gt more out of him we'll have to wait and see but he has made a disappointing start.

Tanguy Ndombele at Spurs was brought in the beginning of last season and was anonymous throughout the season looking overweight and nowhere near his £60m price tag.

This season he has been one of their best players. Moving to a different country and adapting your lifestyle can be difficult, but after a bit of time and confidence you can overcome those problems.

Havertz is still young and I expect him to flourish eventually in the PL.

Well, you're probably right on that but that doesn't mean that being out for 2/3 weeks with covid, and then whatever time it took him to fully recover hasn't effected his start. He's a 21 year old laddie, in another country, during a pandemic, who suffered from the virus. Its not hard to see why he has struggled IMO.

Unbelievable that donkey is playing at that level.

    United we stand here....

  17. #11536
Uche did really well there, Spurs defenders are struggling to deal with him. Where is Darren McGregor when you need him

Fair play - Uche is playing really well here so far. Spurs defenders struggling to handle him.

How come there seems to be some fans in the Spurs game ? Are they allowed spectators in England ?

There aren't. Those in the stands are the subs/coaching staff etc.

Are there maybe fan cut-outs in part of that far side stand? If it is subs/coaches etc, they're definitely not sufficiently distanced!

There seemed to be a small group of 3-4 guys up the back of the stand to the left (as we look) of the dugout ..then a few others dotted around outside of where the subs / officials are ...and some others behind each of the goals (may just be ball boys ) ....

Wycombe have had a COVID outbreak in the past few weeks. Whilst the club haven’t said who has had it, assumption would be that Horgan is one of them as he’s pretty much been ever present this season (and played well too).

People you can see in the stand opposite are subs, officials and the press - press on the right, subs and officials on the left.

I know what you mean about Uche but he’s been a bit of a revelation once he was fit. He really only does one thing but he does it well.

I doubt we go on to win it from here but we’re giving it a go at least.

I saw a few games at the old ground. I like it down there. Wycombe, Marlow, Oxford even.

Oh, as this is a non-Hibs games thread and not for reminiscing.....still 1-1 Wycombe v Spurs
