And thank god he did. Stubbs first signing. I remember thinking "who?" at the time but just shows you don't need to be a household name to make a gigantic impact. Instrumental in leading our great club back to where it belongs. A great captain and true legend

Certainly hit the high notes on that day in May!

"Romanov was like a breath of fresh air - laced with cyanide." Me.

Hat off to Alan Stubbs he did a wonderful job building a squad from nothing
As soon as I clapped eyes on SDG bombing up that right wing and putting his body on the line repeatedly for the cause I thought to myself “ He’ll do.”

Did we not have another attacking WB on trial under Stubbs at the same time who didn’t get a contract?
Iirc I preferred the other guy.
Shows you what I know - Gray has been a fantastic signing and we’ve really missed him when he’s been injured.

Genuinely might be my favourite hibs player ever. Given us so many great moments over the years. The header at ibrox, his screamer v rangers in the 4-0, THAT goal in the cup final, the goal away to brøndby, the equaliser at home to asteras tripolis... so many amazing memories.

Last season was a complete write off for him but if, and it’s a big if, he can get back to how he was in the second half of 18/19 then he’d easily be our first choice right back with what is on the books.
Have my doubts but maybe the enforced break will have allowed his body to fully recover and a proper pre season will give him a chance.
Agree with the above post. Some brilliant moments even excluding the obvious one.

Special day, special player. In 50 years time, Hibs fans will still know the name, David Gray. Legend.

He protec
He attac
But most importantly
He bring the Scottish Cup back
Really crap memes aside, I genuinely think that decades from now people will talk about the back line of Gray, McGregor, Hanlon and Stevenson in the same way we speak about the golden generation, Turnbull's Tornadoes, the Famous Five and more. Four club legends who have achieved a lot at the club, given us our pride back, represented us and the surrounding community with distinction and all four very good players indeed.
Enjoy it whilst it lasts because it could be a long time before we have a back four that are as easy to identify with and like as those four.

Stats from Wiki.
4 Legends.
I can just about understand why some posters, particularly on Facebook groups, give them a hard time but they should never be disrespected. Not by any Hibs fan.

Was at the signing with SDG, Malonga and I think Jason(?)
He was absolutely the captain, just had something about him.
We were in buying match tickets after the shop and he was in there too, chatting to everyone and obviously had a connection with them all.
I said it all along he was a leader, family sick of me saying about that day😂

He wins when he's singing.
There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.
