Shirt Sponsor thank you NHS question

I am sure this has been covered but can’t find the answer?

Why is the hibs shirt sponsor in a different font?

    Hopefully someone can tell me

    Thanks

Why do you care that he cares, to the point you need to comment?

Prime example of what's wrong with this place. No need for your smart comments.

Why do you care that he cares that the OP cares?

I care because I feel this place has turned into somewhere that cheap throw away insults have become quite normal. The reply offered nothing other than a dig at the OP, imo. It feels that people have nothing to say but are happy to slag off others.

The original question is a valid one. The font is different from that used by the NHS, maybe some people don't care, but that doesn't mean people should be afraid to ask perfectly sensible questions.

I don't like it and it feels a bit like bullying at times.

That all said, I don't direct that at any one individual.

There was a lengthy discussion about this when the announcement was originally made. It didn’t seem to me like the OP had looked very far to try and solve his problem. You really don’t have to be called Sherlock to get the answer. It was done to death at the time and I really don’t know why some folk were getting pretty worked up about it.

Wasn’t a smart comment. Genuinely wondered what he was on about. Wondering about fonts seems a bit errrrrm, niche.

Maybe trying to be a comic, sans.
There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

If somebody's 40th post in 18 years of .net membership is even slightly critical of Hibs, then rightly or wrongly they can expect to be treated with suspicion.
The OP doesn’t need to or deserve to be treated with suspicion. He’s definitely a Hibs supporter. His posting rate on hibs.net is neither here nor there.

I’ve been on here for almost 20 years and have thousands of posts and I haven’t got a clue what the OP asked that was ‘wrong’ or what the whole ‘different font’ business is (not that I care either tbf).

Incidentally, the OP has 100 odd posts, not 40.

Not allowed to use the NHS Scotland (or other) font.

Sure there was a thread about this before as thistle used the "right" Font

Is the Thistle top a strip though? I thought it was just a t shirt they released.

I'm not even sure if that makes a difference.

    The font isn't the issue.

NHS Scotland have a stylised thistle leaf thing which, together with the letters, makes up a logo. NHS England uses similar lettering but in white italics against a blue background. This is their logo.

Hibs aren't sponsored by either. Nor do we sponsor them.

Our shirt sponsorship is a community minded initiative, paid for by a benefactor, as a means to thank the NHS.

There's more to it than that (fund raising, guests, etc.), but it's really an unofficial thing that hopefully will do some good.

This has been discussed. There was chat about NHS Scotland v NHS UK. Its simple, its not a sponsorship, its purely a message from Hibs thanking the NHS.

The design was agreed with NHS Lothian as far as I can remember. And it reflects the support of the the NHS across all 4 nations.

    Not in the slightest.

    Just putting out there...

Why haven't we gone for the NHS badge on the shirt like the English Premier teams and tried to find a normal shirt sponsor?

You'd need to ask Hibs that one.

I think Leeann Dempster's e-mail address was posted on here recently.

Has Mr Lobo even viewed this thread again, or was it just a 'drop a controversial comment and run' type post?

I think it was done to death at the time Hibs announced it, with some people getting worked up about trivial stuff.

Would we have sold as many with a normal sponsor? Would our brand have received so many good news stories UK wide with a normal sponsor? Have we really lost out on that much by not having one? I’d suggest most of those answers are no and that’s the reason we have done it our own way.

I dont know how much money a mid table scottish premier football team can command for a full season shirt sponsorship so can't answer your question. Your clearly know the numbers though so please enlighten...
