Why am I seeing more ads on a banner at the foot of the page on Hibs.net? Have I inadvertently clicked on something.

Is it just me that's getting this grey banner at the bottom of the page, that I have to close to remove? Every single page

I get the grey banner and the advert every page, rather annoying, started yesterday and still getting it.

Can we please do something about it admins.

If you login it goes away but agree it’s very annoying if you haven’t logged in first.

No I don't think it all runs for free. Could you be a bit more specific please as to what is going on? Is there a security risk in me using the site? It looks that way with the unexplained randomness. I am genuinely concerned about this.

There's no risk, I'm not sure why you think that.

We're currently trialling a new advert provider hence there has been some changes.

It does mean you may see a cookie permission pop-up that's it.

No need to feel worried at all.

There's no security risk, they're just adverts that will be selected based on cookies, like any other site.

The way it has been behaving is not like any other site I have seen. The multiple clicks required just to use it and the grey banner are disconcerting.

Again, there is no security risk and nothing to be concerned about. They're just adverts and as posted above, we're trying a new provider so there might be a couple of teething problems but that's all.

It's a new ad provider so there will be some snags and we'll look to get as many ironed out as we can.

There have been a few requests regarding updating and upgrading the forum in recent weeks and that comes at both a cost and a few minor inconveniences.

The risk from seeing these ads is no greater than it was from the previous provider.
