Iíll be using it for general family use, with home schooling going to be a common practice at least until xmas id want to able run some kids learning programs, also courses for myself and I would also like it to be able to keep up with footy manager that would be my only gaming need really

Anyone any help on the specs required or a couple of nudges in the right direction?

I would recommend getting something with a full keyboard, by that I mean one that has all the keys and a number keypad at the side. Lots of laptops combine keys and reduce the size of the laptop by doing this. Also go for the largest screen size you can afford, lastly make sure it has an SSD (Solid State Drive) hard drive they are much faster than a standard hard drive. It doesnít sound like you need a high spec machine for your needs but Iíll let others guide you on that.

Thanks very much Iíd have never considered any of your points there, the keyboard especially would have been a big blow for the the kids not having the numbers separate

I got my current PC from PC Specialists - you can go through a questionnaire to arrive at the computer that suits you best and you don't get stuff you don't need. They do the same with laptops.
