What a chance this season is to really push on to be the 3rd force for years to come.
Have you watched any games this season? If so, what makes you label Gogic as “average”? Pretty poor comment imo. And Paul McGinn hasn’t let anyone down either.

I suspect we will sign him in a dual role. Some people on this site have been quick to dismiss him, so getting him in on a dual role might appease some
    It would certainly appease me.

Glad to hear some positive news on this. About time

TBH I'd like to see Gray on the right of a back 3, if he's lost a bit of pace then it could see him extent his career a bit, he's good in the air and his positioning is sound.
I think this is the only place he can play now, doesn’t have the legs for right back anymore sadly

Stephen McGinn being used as an eye in the stand at the games. Hence why he was spotted at Tanadice in a Hibs tracksuit
Ross keen to have him around, but at 31, you’d think McGinn would be keen to keep playing

Unless last season's injury was bad enough to shorten his career, that might have been the main reason St Mirren didn't offer him a new deal.

On Sportscene the other night when talking about the Hibs game, he kept referring Hibs to we and us, looks probable he may be signing in a dual capacity. Not a bad idea getting people like McGinn, Daz and Gray into the backroom where they can have good influence with the players.

Think he does want to play, still hopeful of a contract with us.....also one eye to the future career too...would t be surprised if we see 2-3 departures on loan and the money helps give him a one year deal.

That's a bit of an odd claim. By all account Mcrorie has potential, but to claim he is even a small step up, let alone a huge step up, from Gogic is a bit wild considering Gogic has stepped into our team and looks one of our best players, take him out and I'm sure we start falling to pieces as a team again.

And the persistent claims of "average" for McGinn is just an unnecessary insult, the guy has proved himself to be more than capable and a step up from what we had already. Not only that but as I said in another post, without him we can't switch from 4 to 3 at the back during games. Teams need these kind of players, he might not be the most exciting player on paper but right now he's definitely one of our important players.

Nicely put, crazy post regarding McGinn and Gogic maybe he’s thinking about James and Vela?? Without McGinn and Gogic like you said we’d definitely wouldn’t be as strong defensively as have been.. two very important players for us not just this season but seasons to come..

So a possible player/coach role similar to Daz and Gray, good experience and act as good cover if needed.

Also good to see Murray going on loan, as he said should've happened last season but the squad was thin due to injuries etc, it's what he needs.

Does my head in when people about the Boyle contract situation are like “sign it, you owe Hibs it” etc etc. The boy owes Hibs absolutely nothing.

Yup. It's not a Michael Owen situation where he's barely played any games for us due to injury. We took a punt on him and have been rewarded with 5+ years of great service.

McGinn will probably be holding off until October in the hope that a Championship club signs him where he will be a first team player.

If that doesn’t happen I don’t think it would be a bad move if we offered him a contract on the understanding he would be unlikely to play barring a massive injury crisis.

If he accepts that I doubt he would be on much of a wage and would be better having a experienced player that JR knows and trusts that can help him out as part of the coaching/technical staff, like he did at Tannadice, than getting a player on loan from somewhere else for the same kind of wages.

Thanks again for pointing out the obvious. I may not be the manager, but surely I can have an opinion about how a potential signing might fit into the side?

I thought the whole point of posting on this forum was to discuss opinions on Hibs. Replying like this just adds no value?...

To be fair those "average" players have made our best start since the mid 70's
