Winks. Kane has had a major injury to deal with. He's turned Dier into a top class CH. Brought in some decent youth prospects, and signings for the next 5 years. He needs a DM and another forward, and he wont be far away from trophies. A lot of players that Poch bought were simply not up to the level.
I'm sure Everton targeted Dier on the weekend and to good effect

I actually text my mate to literally say "Dier is rank"

Mightve just been a bad game but I'm far from convinced of him, Let alone grading him as top class

I like Morinho though, gets too hard a time of it for me

Can’t say I agree that Dier is a top class CH, I don’t think he’s even good enough for Spurs but agree to disagree.

Spurs might win a domestic cup but they are getting further away from the top 4 IMO. Arsenal, Man U & Chelsea all improving at a quicker rate than Spurs, and Leicester there as well. His ceiling is now top 4 and the odd domestic cup IMO, like Wenger in the second half of his time at Arsenal. I’ll be amazed if he’s still there at the end of the season.
Defo wont see the season out.

There’s no way Dier is a top class centre back. He’s not terrible but you would prob pick 15-20 EPL defenders before Dier.

Surely there is a thread for non Hibs games where folk could discuss how **** Spurs are. Any rumours of Hibs signings or any signings really?

Any chance the Spurs love in can start up their own thread so punters can read about transfers?

He set a high bar with incredible achievements early in his career.

I liked him at the time, but I don’t see how anyone can say he’s done anything bordering on “special” for a while.

There’s nothing “special one” about having arguably improved Man Utd when compared to winning the Champs League with Porto.

It takes a special skill set to get the best out of a group of prima Donna millionaires with massive egos and I’m not sure he’s quite got it any more.

Dier is not a top level centre half. Nowhere near it infact.

Nobody is stopping you posting about transfers? Let's hear some.

That weird line always gets trotted out by someone filling the transfer thread with completely irrelevant garbage. Different threads are obviously for different topics.

Tbf on a rumours thread when there aren’t any rumours it’s inevitable discussions will go off on tangents, happens every year.

As soon as there’s rumours to discussed the irrelevant stuff will disappear.

I'm about as interested in Spurs or any English team as I am about Trabzonspor

Yup. As someone else said, there must be 15-20 centre half’s in the prem alone better than him -

    VVD
    Gómez
    Matip
    Fernandinho
    Laporte
    Thiago Silva
    Rudiger
    Maguire
    Lindelof
Gabriel looked very good at the weekend but it’s early days for him
    Sanchez
    Alderweireld
    Soyuncu
    Evans
    Coady
    Boly

Have a look at the list I’ve edited my post to show and you’ll see why he gets in the England squad - Next to none of them are English. And two of the three that are would start ahead of him.

I'll pop in with some actual transfer news that I've missed if it has already been discussed: Lewis Allan has signed for Berwick. How Lennon ever thought he was worth a place in a Hibs starting line-up is one of life's great mysteries, as is his Wikipedia page which currently shows him as having made one appearance for Berwick, scoring 23 goals in the process ...

Really not sure what you mean? You've mentioned there's no stuff about transfers on the thread but there's nothing stopping you contributing that. On you go.

Yup. Made 25 appearances and scored 5 goals for Edinburgh City in League Two. Was never good enough to start for us.

It doesn’t help when he had a back injury, that was crushing his spine, a couple of years back
He was lucky to ever play again

I always thought that was lennon either saying to the squad, buck your ideas up, I've had to start Lewis Allan ffs, or saying to the board, I need another striker.

I guessed you wouldn't be sure what I meant, par for the course. Let me try and explain.

    It's a transfer thread.

You don't have to post a transfer or a rumour.

You are quite entitled to read about them or reply to them if you see fit.

You shouldn't open it up and read an ongoing debate about Spurs, not a bad topic by any means but should be on a thread of its own.

Finally, I won't make up a transfer rumour just to suit you.

I hope you can now understand.

Imagine the moaning he would be doing with the cuts we've had to make.

Worked really hard to get stronger through his development years and also to recover from his injury. Falls into the category of the many who gave it their all but didn't manage to become a first team regular. If Stokes had even half Lewis's work ethic he'd be on mega bucks at a top club.
