Yep, based on their games v us I thought he was one of their best players. Seemingly garbage against almost everyone else though!

Is McCrorie looking like a goer? If he is keen I’d be happy with him instead of Docherty.

Docherty considering his options after being at Hibs sort of suggests he’s not that fussed about coming back. Shame but can’t dwell.

    Rate Robby McCrorie as well.

Think we need 1-2 more to have solid season (if football continues that is...)

He wasn’t that fussed at being here the first time around.

I’ve read that a few times, but don’t think it’s true. His words, behaviour and work rate suggested differently. He had other options too, and chose Hibs. Not saying he is desperate to come back (I’ve no idea) but he certainly seemed to enjoy his time and was committed to our cause during his time here ..

Shame if true as he is a player with real drive.

Did well bar the Hearts game and I think there is loads more to come from him if he gets a run of first team games.

Think he would compliment Gogic, Allan and Newell very well and be a huge asset if we can get him.

FWIW I heard opposite to not wanting to be here. Loved his time here and would love to come back if an appropriate deal can be struck. I fear however the wages may be a stumbling block.

He was quoted in the papers whilst here as saying it was a brilliant dressing room and atmosphere.

Just need to keep fingers crossed.

Killie sign Clevid Dikamona from the relegated team

Kind of - didn't Dikamona get released due to refusing a pay cut, and then wanting to go home to France to see out the lockdown

In Clevid World, if he thinks Kilmarnock is the France of Ayrshire, he probably reckons the ScotBet shop in Auchinleck is the casino at Monte Carlo, and the Girvan Lighthouse La Tour Eiffel....

Do you remember how long it took us to talk him into coming here and how long the deal took to do. He didn’t want to leave Rangers at all.

Flo didn’t need any convincing to travel the other way. It was Docherty that held the deal up.

That’s 100% correct. Doc didn’t want to come. But he 100% enjoyed being here. He’s also not going to be pressing for a move back as wether we like it or not it’s admitting he’s having to come down a level.

Strange motivation if that’s the case. Stay where you are, play very occasionally, make up the numbers and pick up a wage or move to a smaller club and be the star of the show for probably not as much money but not ***** wages.

Even when his level prior to Rangers was playing at Hamilton, he has a friggin cheek. He's played a total of 14 games for them 3 years ago in season 17-18, not exactly ripping it up at Ibrox is it.

  18. #6617
Reading Portsmouth fans comments about McCrorie worry me a bit. Most saying he was hopeless although others saying that was due to Kenny Jackett not having a clue and playing him out of position. Could also be sour grapes because he isn't going back to them.

Mentally its admitting you arent as good as you thought you were, or your development hasnt gone the way you'd hoped. I can understand someone having that mindset, his motiviation needs to be about going down a level to reset and push his development on by playing more. A move down south probably allows him to save face tbh. BUT if we do get him here I've no doubt he will give it 100%.

Given that he is not playing at Rangers, it really isn't a step down. I can understand fans viewing it that way, but he is a professional footballer who, if he stays at Rangers, doesn't look like he will be playing any football.

If his only two options are sitting on the bench/in the stand at Rangers, or playing for Hibs, and we assume the wages aren't massively different, then it should be a no brainer for him.

If he has offers from England that he prefers then it of course changes things.

Regardless of whether he wanted to be a Hibs or not, I think Docherty conducted himself in a mature and respectful way whilst at the club, which is all we should really be asking for from a loan player. He obviously has talent but I’d not lose any sleep if he didn’t come back as I don’t think we’d get enough bang for our buck. He’s a prime candidate for heading down south and having one of these fairly anonymous careers but will earn a few quid in the process and maybe get on a Si Ferry podcast.

  22. #6621
The only two realistic options up here for Docherty are Hibs and Aberdeen and they don't seem interested and neither does he. So it's down south to be lost in the vast lower leagues or Rangers reserves. Personally I'd have him back but if he doesn't want to come I won't be losing sleep over it

Hearts fans are linking themselves to

    Stephen Kingsley
    Jackson Irvine
    Kane Hemmings

Agreed! He may also desire to play in England but despite doing well at Shrewsbury it doesn't seem as if there's any huge interest in him down south. Given it appears he would want a
Championship club at least, then I think we may end up being a pretty decent option for him.

I would say they’re probably better players than they’ve got?

I certainly wouldn’t mind us signing any of the three.

Jackson Irvine is a baller, would definitely take him if available. Dunno much about Kingsley but Hemmings is bang average at best.

Don’t see how playing in the league which you’re not playing in currently is a step down tbh. ***** attitude and also a load of ***** for him to say that, factually incorrect

Jackson Irvine and Stephen Kingsley were in the English Championship last season. I don’t see them dropping down to the Scottish equivalent 😂

They are not signing Jackson Irvine. He played 38 games for Hull last season!!!

I am sure he is desperate to sign for a team in the Scottish 2nd tier who may not actually have a league to play in this season (real possibility).....They will honestly buy into anything over there.
