Following on from other film threads, what are your favourite 'low budget' films?

    I'll start with

Forgot that was a low budget, pretty groundbreaking film making by all accounts.

I think the first Saw would also fall into he low budget films as well

    Clerks

The Angels Share (I'm not sure if this actually low budget but it has that feel so I think it's a fair assumption)

    Eagle vs Shark

    Chopper

    Dog Soldiers

    Hunger

    One Day Removals.
Definitely a low budget film, made in Aberdeen and very funny. I think it’s still available on YouTube for nowt as well.
    Every gimmick hungry yob,
Digging gold from rock and roll

Chopper is a great shout. Could also add Eric Bana in the brilliant performance thread as well.

Clerks was my immediate thought too.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

    Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town.

Not only is it low budget, it's a cracking low budget zombie movie AND it "stars" Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton.

There's a really really famous one. Cost about £20k to make and has made over £500 million. Don't think I'm allowed to post the name of it on here though.

Riff Raff (I'm assuming it was reasonably low budget). Typical Ken Loach, so you can be pretty sure what you're getting! Early starring role for Robert Carlyle.

Breaking Away. I saw it at an all nighter in the Odeon in the early 80s. It was the first and only time I’ve heard an audience clapping at the end of a film.

Does Vanishing Point fit the low budget genre? Love this film.
