Very definitely a changing of the guard

Only hope of a return to the status quo anytime soon is if the uglies get bored

Rangers top of the league if they win by 3 goals today.
Being full time footballers is beginning to move them ahead of Glasgow City. That and taking their players.

It appears there are no more league games for a month.

Money talks at all levels. The bigot twins are spending money and will end up a duopoly like the men's game. Will in all likelihood ruin the women's game as well

Celtic and rangers gave their women’s teams a £500k budget. The days of Hibs and Glasgow city winning everything is over unfortunately

    That’s the way it goes.

There was a move to try and move on the women’s game from being a participation sport to something more professional, even if that wasn’t currently backed up by people willing to pay to watch it.

The natural outcome of that is that you gravitate towards the hierarchy at the professional level.

Today was the first time I have seen Rangers ladies play and they looked the part.
A team of athletes. They will go from strength to strength and leave Glasgow City and sadly Hibs ladies behind in a past era.

Rangers have went out and bought a team to win the league this season, at the same time taking the best players from City. Short term targets. Celtic have invested more in their Academy. Unless the old firm pull the plug they will be miles ahead of Hibs, City , Spartans over the next few seasons. Its concerning for development of young players if senior teams are going to focus much more on immediate first team success. Over the past 10 years Scotland have brought through some real top class talent. It will be interesting to see if that continues.

Is anyone really upset about this, does it affect anyone the same way a men's team defeat does?

Nope. Didn’t start supporting hibs due to the ladies team

Upset no. Interested yes. But I wouldn’t say I’m ever really upset by the men’s results either. It’s just football.

In a way it will be a good thing for young talented players in that it provides a middle ground for them between the largely amateur teams like Hibs Ladies and the big clubs down South. In essence it will allow them to play professionally in Scotland without having to leave their families and support networks until they decide if it is right for them.

Very few of the young talented players will be in Rangers first team. They are buying the best players to win the Scottish (many of whom have already been down south and now came back) Similar to men’s football. The other teams now need to concentrate on signing and playing the best youngsters in the country, then they will be the jump they need to the bigger leagues. Too many of the also rans in the league now are still heavily weighted to experienced players and the youngsters end up going to the 2nd div to play what is industrial football. Aberdeen probably the only team in the 2nd worth watching and they are full of the based young north talent. That’s my concern about youth development. I think Hibs / Hearts etc will go much more this way over the coming seasons. It’s already started tbh. They simply aren’t going to be able to sign players to match Rangers and Celtic.

FT R angers 1 Hibs 0....expected a hammering for the ladies side today so could have been a lot worse

FT Hertz 1 Forfar Farmington 1...farmington keeper takes a free kick on 90+ mins and the ball floats over the hertz keeper

presently Spartans 1 Celtic 3....2nd half just started and is live on BBC website

More people watched the women’s highlight show than watched Sunday Sportscene this week. Never thought I’d see the day.

Question For the Hibs Ladies fans - is it tough to watch ex Hibee Lizzie Arnott score against us for Rangers ??

Guessing so - Always tough seeing a former favourite come back and haunt you

A fair few ex Hibs players in the Rangers squad tbf. They've signed the vast majority of the top talent in the league. Hibs put in a very resolute defensive performance to keep it to 1-0 at the weekend.

100k budget. Most of that is actually swallowed up by using Oriam and paying for coaches.
