I'm told Katie played with a back injury. She didn't come out for the 2nd half. Personally I don't think Hibs have a had a good keeper for a long time. Does make a huge difference. We should have kept hold of Rodgers who is now at Hearts and the Scotland u19 keeper. She is tall and athletic.
I hadn't noticed that it was a different keeper in the second half. Thanks for keeping me straight !

Nice that members are able to discuss the merits of women’s football without any fall outs.
Women’s rowing in our country, was miles behind the men in terms of competing with other countries.
Women’s rowing association, went into universities, and identified women’s who met the physically ability to be good at rowing, none had previously rowed.
This became a great success, it might be a way forward to identify women who are taller and more athletic to play in goals.
I suspect university age would be too late. I play in a mixed fives game and sometimes watch a local women's five-a-side league that friends play in – there's a clear difference between women who've played football since they were kids (as most male players would have) and those who've picked it up later on.

Don't really know enough about rowing to comment – obviously there's a fair amount of technique involved, but I guess it's a significantly less complex sport to learn?

Agree that university, is too late for aspiring goalkeepers, as it is more technical, but perhaps young basketball or netball players with good ball handling skills, and height, might offer a way into football, the fact that goalkeepers are generally better later in life does help.

I know others have said that University is too late, but I tend to agree with you. I also wonder about the standard of coaching womens keepers get from an early age anyway. Goalkeeper coaching is a very specialised subject and I doubt there are many very good GK coaches working at youth level at the moment..never mind female youth level.

Of course Rowing gets a bunch of cash because they are an olympic sport and generally associated with Public Schools - If it were to happen in Scottish football it would require the SFA to get involved and do the right thing, which is hard to imagine. Do they have any universities in Largs ?

We have a real issue with Performance coaching in this country - its all about numbers rather then taking the best of the best and making them better. The regional setup has basically disappeared. The coaches that were doing it were by and large awful. They generally didn't take goalkeepers or defenders. We remain light years behind other European nations on this.

Go and watch the top European youth teams and they are ALL athletes. Bigger, faster and more technical. Better diets. More commitment. More hours of training. We just don't take it seriously enough.

On your last point, I think that also applies to the mens team.

The game against England at Hampden was a good example. Technically they are miles better but even physically and athletically they are miles ahead. The gap is closing as we now have players regularly playing at the top level in England, but Scottish players across the board are still lagging behind in that regard.

Can't agree with that. They were miles better on the night, but a good number of our starting side play in the top flight in England?

I think what matters is that they are one of the worlds top sides, come from a country with ten times the playing pool and have some genuinely world class players

They might play in the top league now, but physical development is key in your late teens and very few played at the top level at that age.

The English clubs are absolutely miles ahead interns of sport science and physical development of players. Even Celtic and Rangers don't get close.

Look at McGinn's physical improvement since he left zhibs, he is totally transformed. Now imagine if he'd had access to that level of support from age16 onwards.

Not so sure that most of the England players were playing top level football in their late teens either (probably out on loan etc)? We've seen plenty of England age level internationalists come up to Scotland and fail miserably to compete at our level too (Boateng, Woods at Hibs in recent times)

McGinn left Hibs when he was 23, not his physical prime. He got better, stronger, fitter. He would probably have done the same if he had stayed at Hibs all his career, albeit to varying levels of lesser extent.

If physical development and our sports conditioning is so far behind, using you logic, how did these guys then make the grade in the likes of the Prem, Serie A, La Liga?

I still think a massive playing pool and a golden period in terms of emerging and established talent was a much bigger issue.

Despite losses to England & Spain, our national team has done remarkably well over recent times. I feel that reflects well on the quality of our youth and professional set ups. Far too easy to knock the game, it's got many issues, but there are also many positives.

Glasgow city got pumped out of the champs league at first stage. We are miles behind in this country now unfortunately. Other countries gambling to get in-front and stay ahead.

talking about keepers i see England back up keeper Sandy Maciver has switched her allegiance to playing for Scotland now Sandy MacIver switches to Scotland from England and is in Nations League squad - BBC Sport following midfielder Amy Rodgers decision to switch sides

in the pre group stage in the women's champions league it finished Brann 2 Glasgow City 0 (6-0)

Wolfsburg 0 Paris FC 2 (3-5) surprised at that one as i think the German side has a huge budget for the women's game and were finalists last season against Barcelona

That’s a great signing for Scotland. She’s miles better than what we have.

I don't understand how she can switch when she already has an England Cap ???

It was a friendly – the current rules only lock you in if you play a senior competitive international.

I think it was a friendly so although capped it's ckased as non competitive so she can still opt to play for Scotland.

Think Jason Cummings did similar? Capped in a friendly for Scotland before opting for Australia.

this is serious btw, Saudi Arabia wants to hold the Women's World Cup in 2035

at least women are allowed to drive cars nowadays so it's becoming a really progressive society

they also want to host the men's World Cup in 2034, i presume they want to bid for both knowing Fifa will find it difficult to knock them back for both bids

Amnesty International Australia campaigner Nikita White said in February: "It would be quite the irony for Saudi's tourism body to sponsor the largest celebration of women's sport in the world when you consider that, as a woman in Saudi Arabia, you can't even have a job without the permission of your male guardian."

Good win today v Hamilton: 8-1. Expected result, but good to get some goals and 3 points.

A hat trick for Adams as well.
Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.

Credit to Elie Youan getting along to support today as well. (Not sure how much he would’ve got to see with the amount of selfies he was pestered for!)

Yep good to see after last week's result at Ibrox.

Lucy Parry came on as a sub for Liverpool today, 3 appearances out of 5. Delighted for her. Absolutely brilliant player.

She is destined for the top. A terrific players with bags of potential. I'm a bit torn that she's doing so well just now. Delighted for her and pleased to see her progress but a little disappointed because is she hadn't we might've got her back!

It was good to see us getting a big, morale-boosting win yesterday because I think we needed it after Ibrox last week. Also, good to see Adams scoring a hat-trick and hopefully boosing her confidence because she hasn't been as clinical as we need her to be recently. Bit concerned though that we again conceeded, even in such a big win, because it seems we are rarely good enough to keep cleansheets with the likes of Montrose, Hamilton and Dundee United who all struggle to score finding the net against us this season. Baucom appears to be the real deal and her goals to game ratio is impressive. Perhaps the most proflic forward since Abi Harrison?

I haven't been impressed with Fraine at all and would consider giving Wilson a run in the side to see what she can do.

Yeah I had my fingers crossed about that as well, a look at her IG shows she clearly enjoyed playing for us and became quite pally with her teammates (even went to the last Tynie game of the season with Shiv, Eilidh, and Rosie etc). In a way it's a shame we had her last season given we have a better coach this season.

But as you say destined for the top! Got my fingers crossed for her.

Definitely, unless you maybe count Jamie-Lee Napier
