Local deals for delivery - food / drink / etc.

Hopefully this isn't against the rules... I thought it would be good to raise awareness of local deals, both so we can take advantage of them and also help support local businesses.

    Couple to start:

Thistly Cross (Cider/Beer) doing 20% off and free delivery
    https://www.thistlycrosscider.co.uk/shop/

Edinburgh Bacon Company doing various meat parcels (collection in Leith/Penicuik)

What like is the meat from Edinburgh Bacon company?
Just took delivery of my Thistly Cross this morning. I have drunk loads of different ciders & to me this is the best.

Haven't tried it personally. Mate recommended it to me but leith/penicuik is a bit out the way for me at the minute.

The strawberry is very good. Not as sickly as other brands.

All about opinions eh? I don't think I've had more sickly cider than Thistly Cross. It's like drinking sugar.

Old Rosie, although it's hardly one for a session! I also recall really enjoying a French Cider years ago, possibly from Britanny/Normandy, nae idea of its name though.

When I was younger I used to drink all ciders as if they were going out of fashion (I think it actually did) but nowadays the only cider I'll drink is an Italian one, Angioletti. It's made in a similar way to Prosecco(which I don't like) but on a summers afternoon in an ice cold glass it's actually more than enjoyable.

To be honest some folk can be a bit snobby about cider but, I'm not ashamed to say Strongbow has been my go to for years.

    Pub Take Aways

Has anyone bought a carry out recently from a pub?

I may have mis read it but I believe pubs are allowed to open for a carry out, be it drink or food.

I seen my delivery park outside so went to the door as I normally would. He got up to the door and put the food on the ground between us.

It was the right thing to do, but all looked a bit strange.

Our sainsburys guy did that. I thought i'd offended him
Delivery contents seem to be almost back to normal (still struggling for Dolmio smooth sauce though).

I've ordered online from campbells meets and buffallo farm which should arrive over the next few weeks. never used them before, so a bit unknown.
I did look up the local butcher in dunfermline for online ordering but i dont think they do it.
Dont fancy driving into town just to find out they're shut.

Asda took on a whole load of new delivery drivers recently. Could be a new driver who has just made a mistake. Phone your local store, explain the situation and ask if they can advise.

All online deliveries that are contactless are supposed to be bagged, I'm not sure if you have to select that option at the checkout though. Seems like a bit of miscommunication somehere at their end. I'm sure they will want to resolve it, if nothing else they will want the crates back.

I like cider now and again, depends what mood I am in and if it's hot out. I'm not a fan of the pre mixed fruit ciders like dark fruits or koppaberg as the are too gassy to me, however Info enjoy a normal strongbow with s little touch or diluting juice (cherries and berries from Tesco, or plain old blackcurrant and apple). I like the Henry Weston ciders, but only a few as it's rocket fuel. Before fruit cider became big strongbow had a bottles out called Jacques cider, this was nice and not as gassy as others. If im in a pub on a hot day and fancy a nice crisp cider then aspall is usually my go to

Anyone drink Bon Accord drinks? My next door neighbour has recently started working there doing the sales and marketing. In the normal course of events any ideas of where they could get involved or avenues to sell?
