Thread: Weekend Anthems

    Weekend Anthems

Since we are all confined to the house I thought we could all post a song or 2 that harks back to your heyday of living for the weekend. You can either just post the song or put an explanation if you wish. I'll start with 2:

Mid 00s went to an indie night with a few mates every weekend religiously, they always ended the night with the above.

This was never one that I never heard a lot out and about but was always played before and after a big night.

Friday night at liquid rooms, Evol? I went there religiously every Friday for years. Not Nineteen Forever by The Courteeners was always the one I looked forward to.

Indie night at Citrus club (RIP) on a Saturday night was another staple. Suffragette City by Bowie and Paint It Black by the Stones were two mainstays.

    Love that!

I'm the age group that was indie, hip-hop, house and techno, but I was also big into Motown and Northern Soul.

I could list dozens of songs in that regard but sticking with Motown and sticking to the theme, these were starter songs getting ready to head out for the weekend. I don't think Jackie Wilson was technically Motown but he was the same sound.

There's only one thing better than a Hibs calendar and that's two Hibs calendars
