This is a game I'll always remember because I was the mascot that day. Still got the programme with my picture in it.

I hope this works, for some reason there's a problem sharing youtube videos at the moment.

I was in the FF, for me Zitelli's goal was one of the best I've ever seen at ER.

Obvious to say because he scored 2 goals but them bringing on Tsiartas totally changed the game. He was class, sure he got about 50 odd caps for Greece and was in the squad when they won the Euros.

Still if we'd had a better goalkeeper the game would have been different. I didn't much like Nick Colgan and seeing those highlights reminds me why.

Add to that the chance Luna had right at the end of normal time and we would have been through, although that would have been harsh in the extreme, he'd put us in with a chance. I really felt for Luna, he was a great player for us and was never the same after that game IMO. Still a game that'll live in the memory for ever.

Don't think I experienced a better atmosphere in the old east terracing than this night! (couldn't find English commentary)

I was in the Dunbar end that night. I can't remember if it was for novelty value or if everywhere else was sold out.

The referee was a disgrace that night. As you can see at the end there is a barely a Hibs player shakes his hand.

David Weir absolutely 'scything' down Gareth Evans is a highlight

While there's plenty to miss about that team in green, I do miss the days when Hearts had relevant villains in their team. Gordon, Neilsen, Wallace, Pressley, Hartley, Skacel...players we absolutely loved to hate, and who generated a bit of extra bite on derby days.

Nowadays, I can't think of a single player in their team of that ilk

Naismith is a nasty piece of work on the pitch.
Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.

The dive for the penalty is brutal. Forgot Mickey W was sent off also.

What a fantastic thread! Well done and thanks to everyone who’s contributed so far.

Some of the earlier posts highlighting the Mowbray years was the first I’ve seen of that era in years and it’s absolutely frightening how good a side we had back then, genuinely. Surely Impossible for anyone to disagree that within the SPL era those boys were part of the front running best ever side outside of Glasgow. The amount of chances made in that first Motherwell game was ridiculous for us only to of won 2-1 in injury time and has led me on from reflecting to wondering what history may of looked like if dare I say it, we managed to take more of our chances back then and our defending wasn’t as slack at times.

Watching broony in those highlights blew me away and as a couple have touched upon already, you almost forget how much of a different prospect of a player he was for us back then to how he has been for most of his Celtic career. The only other player to display that kind of energy in the middle of the Park I’ve seen anyway has been McGinn. But out of curiosity and based purely on play, who would you rather have in your team?

Nice to see Steve Archibald has just watched the highlights and commented how great it was to score against the old firm!

My first ever Hibs game was chuffed to bits when I saw the highlights online sitting in the cowshed seeing Keith score - was a late starter though - I was 8 at the time

Never mind the ref ..... I still haven't seen a team at ER before or since who cheated and play acted the way Anderlecht did that night. Mind, none of what they did can match the AEK keeper rolling about as if he had been shot when Tam McManus slid in with a challenge and didn't get within 3 feet of him ... as I recall McManus was booked for it ... oh for VAR.

Mind you, with goal line technology we would have lost the away leg 3 - 0 coz they had one not given that was probably a foot over the line

I've got a vhs somewhere of:

    Hibs 7-0 hearts
    Hibs 6-2 airdrie
    Hibs 1-0 liverpool
    Hibs 5-3 celtic
    Hibs 2-1 celtic

Some hibs rangers game at ibrox from the 80s

Hibs Motherwell from the 80s, andy goram poleaxed some Motherwell player.

Probably another couple games somewhere too
