    Kenny Rogers RIP

I suspect like a few on here, I grew up with parents who liked country.

Worth acknowledging the passing of Kenny Rogers, who thanks to my folks provided a bit of a soundtrack, along with a lot of other country artists, in my formative years. I subsequently got into indie, hip-hop, techno and classical but C+W still grabs the heartstrings

Yeah I used to think he was the least worst option of the stuff my Mum used to play - Jim Reeves and Perry Como being the others!

That's a great lyric by the way 🙂

Jim Reeves and Perry Como has brilliant voices
    I’m not a C&W fan, but I liked some of KR’s songs

He picked a fine time to leave us.

Sorry, if I didn't say it someone else would.

Look, try and find some time to respect the man.

We’ve got tonight, who needs tomorrow.

Let’s make it last, let’s find a way.

I didn’t think I knew it so I went and stuck it on Spotify and recognised it straight away. A real blast from the past!

I know it’s a thread about KR, but Bob Seger has written and sung a few great songs

First Aid Kit playing at home with a tribute to Kenny Rodgers at about 30 mins in. Worth watching the whole show, I saw them live and they were amazing, this is a podcast for folks to watch.
