Hibs v Motherwell 2005 - Highlights now uploaded to YouTube

Meant to do this years ago, but finally got round to converting some old VHS video cassettes to digital that contain Hibs content. This is the first one I've finished tonight. Hope to get a few more uploaded in the next few weeks.

Excellent. Some great football from a great team.

Only starting because O'Connor was injured in the warm up!

Good watch. We just don’t put pressure on teams like that these days

Can’t stand him these days. But whenever I watch highlights from around that time it reminds me of what a brilliant player Scott Brown was for us.

The commentary is terrible. Any idea who it was?

    The Charlie Richmond game.

That was one of the more mental non-Hearts, Celtic, Rangers celebrations that we've ever had for a winner. Felt like a big deal at the time.

I would have been there, but I can't remember it at all.

Do we not? Seen plenty better performances than that in the last few years. We looked really poor defensively in those highlights.

I remember this game like yesterday , That was one of the worst refereeing performances i have EVER seen , The highlights make it out to be decent but my god Charlie Richmond was god awful , It was all about ME , ME , ME ...Scandelous decisions at times , And sent Mowbray to the stands for nothing , As he was booking players left right and centre the game was still raging on , Believe me you had to be there to witness it

Freeland against Falkirk apart that was outrageous refereeing and downright cheating

Riordan had the last laugh though..

Charlie Richmond had a complete shocker that afternoon , 15 years later and that **** still makes me angry !!

That Freeland game was awful. Sent off Liam Craig on the Falkirk bench as well funnily enough. Horrendous

Next one. Can't believe how long the highlights were in those days. 27 minutes!

Some great players back then but Scott B was a standout. I always wondered how he would have done playing in that role in England. So few players able to do what he did back then in a Hibs shirt. He is a Celtc legend but I can't help but think he was a far more dynamic player with us

At that point, the way he played the game, he’d have went down to England and done well. No doubt in my mind about that.

Very few players could run the way he could back then. What made him so good was the fact that he could do it just as easily with the ball.

Haha, quite a coincidence but THIS was the game I was thinking about on the other thread taking about the worst decisions, if I remember correct Richmond had to be escorted off by police as the atmosphere was that venomous towards him.

it's hilarious, he's absolutely massacred every possible cliche whilst sort of managing to be quite original in his awfulness!

Great watch, Zibi was miles out for their goal then had the cheek to blame the defence .... the good old days!

In that Semi vs them I had to get carried out by family members after that clown gifted Hartley the goal from the free kick, I was pretty much ready to run on the pitch and I was willing to do time.

The biggest issue with his performance was that he constantly stopped the game and had a long discussion with the player committing the foul and then didn't book them while Hibs were looking to play the game quickly but weren't allowed to do that. Absolutely hindered our style of play and was a truly appalling perfor.mance. Complete justice we scored in the last minute, Richmond must have been gutted when we scored.

Scotty Brown looks a snip at 4.4m

No doubt in my mind he would have gone to the very top down south

Looking forward to the next clip

    Great thread

If I remember correctly, there was something like 13 bookings in this game, and 12 of them went to Motherwell. I'm sure I remember Hibs supporters even booing Richmond when he booked one of the Motherwell players.

Interesting it isn't mentioned at all in the highlights. These days Sportscene, quite rightly, would be highlighting the referee's performance too.

    Motherwell 1–6 Hibs (2006): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksxTVJPsV0E

Picture quality is pretty awful but this was some performance, possibly the best example of how good we were at times under Collins.

Motherwell defending for the first though…

Definitely one of the best performances I’ve ever seen from a Hibs team.

Zemmama was just ridiculous for the 5th in that game. Great skill in the middle of the park.
